The thought of losing Saffold is daunting, but he's just not durable.

So, while I love his play; I can't bank on it.

If he signs elsewhere, whatever.

The whole vibe out of Rams park sounds very Jackson/Amendola like IMO. Saffold isn't a sound investment and the Rams know it.

I just wish I knew the answer to one question.

Is a "fair" deal enough to keep him?

I beleive Saffold knows a ball park figure the Rams will offer. He's wanting to see if somebody wants to over pay. If someone does then he's gone. The Rams will not give him unearned money with the youthful talent we have coming into their primes.

Here's the deal, I don't know why any team would give him the money he's looking for when they view his injury history. He's a really good player who gets hurt a lot. If that's worth if to them then he's yours.

We can't really replace Saffold but we can certainly survive without him. We will still win the Super Bowl but it won't be as easy. ;)

I think there is at least one probably more that can replace Saffold and be more reliable even with the FA G market being somewhat thin.

Ehh, hope he comes back. Don't see very many teams needing a LT so badly they'll give him big money. If not, thanks for you service.

Edit: Now I really want him to come back. If anything, it'll make the 2010 draft on par with the 2006-2009 drafts.

2010
Sam Bradford
Rodger Saffold
Jerome Murphy
Mardy Gilyard
Big Mike Hoomanawanui
Hall Davis (WTF)
Fendi Onobun
Eugene Sims
Marquis Johnson
George Selvie
Josh Hull

At least a few contributed, and Eugene Sims is an awesome backup. But man, Jerome Murphy and Mardy Gilyard. (n)

Especially when guys like Jared Veldheer, Jon Asomoah, Mike Williams, or Alterraun Verner were available.
