Potential 2024 Rams

I am looking forward to this season. Very interested in how Sean McVay and the Rams' coaches (with a lot of new faces and men in different roles) do with a young roster. However, I believe this will be a fairly weak roster; and, for the first time in half-a-dozen years, my expectations are low. Really want to be wrong about these opinions. Hoping for a competitive team that is still in playoff-contention after Thanksgiving.

The Rams are the only team in the NFL that has yet to sign a single free agent from another team, and still seem both cap-strapped and cap-conscious. Accordingly, I am also looking towards the 2024 off-season when the Rams may be in the best position to re-load the roster.

This is a time when teams make decisions on fifth-year-options for former first round selections; and, in the past two days, three teams have passed on exercising their options on three athletic, young Linebackers.

Seattle / Jordyn Brooks. Baltimore / Patrick Queen. Arizona / Isaiah Simmons.

With so much passing in the league many teams are not valuing Linebackers like they used to. The Niners and Ravens are an exception.

We are gonna need to get lucky with waiver wire claims this year. It will be a little different, maybe more hectic especially with that last cut. But the Rams should be able to make room for a larger window of options than most teams. Hoping we get a couple extra guys to round things out and if it is in the right spots even better.

I can only tell you that it seems like Snead and Mcvay learn from their mistakes.

Now the cap space has been speculated a lot. I’ve read anywhere from $55 million to $80 million. But why is she saying that they will have a buttload of draft picks? The comp formula has a cap on it of three right? Are they even going to be very high picks with the one year contracts that Ram free agents are signing? Where are the other extra picks coming from?

Maybe she’s accounting for Snead trading down in the first round, stacking up multiple mid round picks that he will then turn into even more late round picks. If we had 14 this year, imagine what he’ll do next year…

for one thing, McVay will filly have all his draft picks,. that's if between now and the 2024 draft he does not trade any, first time.

Just hoping they can protect Stafford. If they do then a maybe a lot of 34-27 type games.

I believe we can sign as many FA as we want now. I think it is past the deadline for Comp Considerations.
