Looks like Jackson will be the LT which is fine. He's a bit more physical than Noteboom since Joe's injury. He's not the same. I think they will try to start him at RG to get used to playing on the right side and then start him at RT in 2024. That will give them time to see if McClendon can make the transition to RG in 2024.

I think center will come down to the wire. I think Allen will start but I'm not confident he can finish the season. If he goes out then I think Shelton takes over going forward with McAllister at backup.

OL 2023
LT Jackson
LG Avila
C Allen
RG Noteboom
RT Havenstein

Swings: OT/OG Thomas, OT/OG Bruss, C/OG McAllister, C/OG Shelton

OL 2024

LT Jackson
LG Avila
C Shelton or McAllister
RG McClendon
RT Noteboom

Swings: OT/OG Thomas, OT/OG Bruss, C/OG McAllister, C/OG Maginn

I have no problem with either OL configuration. In 2024 the OG could be the strength of the OL.

The run attack this year will be primarily to the left which is where they will be strongest this year. In 2024 if McClendon can play RG then the run attack should be very balanced either left, right or inside.

No way we dropping Hav in 2024. Noteboom is dog shit at Guard too. This is a good way to get Stafford hurt again.

That's a BIG offensive line. I do like that. Athletic too. So Noteboom ahead of Anchrum right now in your opinion?

Anchrum is the Rams starting RG, Get used to it.

I remember watching an interview of Anchrum and being really impressed with him. Then I saw this video about his volunteer work with kids undergoing chemo treatment. Holy cow, what an amazing human being he is.

The vid starts a little slow, Anchrum doesn't show up until 5:45 into the video. If you watch the whole video, it's guaranteed you'll be a big fan of Tremayne Anchrum.

I'll start a separate thread on this, all Rams fans should know what a great guy he is.

Yeah his title for this thread is very misleading. Anchrum is the starting RG unless he gets hurt. Just because Noteboom is getting reps at RG doesn't mean he's beaten out Anchrum. Let's not forget how terrible Noteboom looked at LG in the past.

After seeing the dead money numbers and cap hit someone posted yesterday on Hav for 24 there is no way they cut him.

I would like to see McVay actually use the preseason games to get the projected starting line some time playing together. I believe it would go a long way toward gelling the offense for the start of the season.

Boom at RG, not happening unless there are injuries IMO

Who knows, they could be looking at Noteboom at RG to see whether he is worth keeping. That's if they feel they have a reserve LT on the roster that is similar and more cost effective.

Because if another team suffers an injury at LT, they might be in position to trade him to that desperate team and get something decent.

Again, they only do that if they feel they have a swing OT that can play LT if needed, which I have no idea if that's the case.

In my opinion the player that doesn't win the starting LT will be the swing tackle off the bench at both LT and RT. I would love it if Note can be the answer and leave Jackson as our swing tackle because he definitely can play guard too. That's a player with great versatility. Note sucked at LG so I'm guessing he would only be worst playing guard on the right side. Last thing Anchrum is listed as the starting right guard on the Rams depth chart. Just don't see how Noteboom gets the starting RG spot like OND is stating he will.

Does anyone else think that centre is the only spot currently up for grabs?

LT Jackson
LG Avila
RG Anchrum
RT Rob

Looks like it’s between Allen and Shelton for that final starting spot.

Starting to look that way. At the start of camp it looked like there was competition at 3 spots to me (LT, C, RG), but I think the Rams see the starters now as you listed and if I had to guess, Allen will get the starting C gig to begin the season.

If our RG position is so bad that we have to look at Noteboom playing there then just fucking sign Dalton Risner already. By signing Witherspoon and JJ it looks like we are not trying to tank the season so why does McVay and Snead keep neglecting the goddamn o-line. Risner is an above average RG who is only out of Denver because they have 2 REALLY good guards on the roster, that's the only reason. If we can't open any inside holes for our runners and can't keep Stafford upright it's going to be long fucking season. We got $12M in cap space so just sign him already before he's gone and we are stuck with dogshit at the position, again. Whoops, thought this was a vent thread, my bad.

I've never seen him perform well at anything except left tackle.
And this is not an insult btw.

It is obviously the most skilled position on the offensive line outside of, (arguably) center.

But Noteboom is like a once in a lifetime enigma in that he plays the most skilled position way above average, yet looks pretty bad everywhere else.

Strange days have found us...
