During the Rams off day, the staff made a variety of changes to its active roster. The team signed two players, while waiving one due to injury and placing another on the reserve/injured list.

Reserve/Injured:

Dominique Easley - Defensive End, Florida

Waived:

Zach Laskey - Full back, Georgia Tech

Signed:

C.J. Germany - Wide receiver, Notre Dame College ( no idea on this guy...anyone?)

Justin Thomas - Wide receiver, Georgia Tech

The team will return to the field tomorrow for Day 6 of training camp.

That explains part of it....I read Notre Dame and didn't see the college part. I don't know...thought we had enough WR in camp already, but McVay just might know more about this football stuff than I do ;)

Wow! Two receivers! Spruce, Cooper, Reynolds not showing what they want? Any others?

This seems odd but like @Mick said, McVay just might know more about football than we do!

Three qbs, they all need reps. Who going to catch the ball with TAwesome and MT out? That's why coop and Spruce going between 1st and 2nd

My guess is they're practice squad guys, and we've already found our fullback so Laskey isn't needed.

Nice 4+ Minute Video. Good hands doesn't fight the ball and looks quick and fast against smaller school opponents. Camp guy to help stretch the field. You never know could be a find.

He looks like a polished smooth route runner. Broke a few ankles in the open field.

No for real McVay is on some real ish here. He is a football savant. I bet he bled and breathed football. Those people who looked at the whole picture. Quite frankly I am all for his vision. I dont mind small colleges. Could find diamonds in that area.

FYI, Laskey went down at practice on Monday in a non contact injury to his left leg. They released him due to that injury. My guess, like your's, is yes they have Rogers as a FB and did not need to wait for Zach to heal.

McVay is kicking some "longshot" tires here. Rogers has made Laskey expendable. Tavon is not going to see the field for a little bit and neither are none of the other starting WRs this first preseason game I bet so bodies needed at the position. I'm thinking McVay is satisfied with what he sees with Woods, Kupp, Cooper, Spruce, and Tavon and is willing to give the lot of them plenty of rest early.

They don't like the bottom end of the roster as far as wide receivers are concerned I would say.

Relax.... you need bodies in camp so you don't overwork your players. Austin and Thomas are down right now, and they might rest Woods here and there so it makes sense.

You need evaluation. I think McVay is bringing in prospects for future use....

Whats that saying gathering all your eggs into one basket.

Exactly what I was thinking. These guys are "camp legs" to help the QBs get their reps. If a star emerges, so be it.

I'll be a bit surprised if Spruce even makes the team.

I was a HUGH Spruce supporter last camp. I still am but I'm not seeing what I had hoped to see from him this camp. You know, that eye test we all talk about but can't quantify.

You may be correct and like @kurtfaulk said, people are gonna get ticked.
