Words aren't powerful, they don't carry some mystic ability to force you to feel a certain way. The receiver has ALL of the power in conversation both verbally and in text. "Nazi" means nothing as a printed word. It requires the receiver to add context and power to it.

Don't play the victim in order to force others to see something the way you do.

So I guess this is not acceptable either - and I loved posting this guy when possible

Sigh

And Seinfeld is Jewish and I don't think he had a problem in labeling this guy.

I used to go to the original Soup Man in on the west-side of Manhattan. This was before he took advantage of the Seinfeld notoriety through a chain of outlets.

Soup was very good, and a nice lunch on cold days. Service was not particularly friendly but never saw any rudeness. However, unlike George, I never asked for bread.

The guy looked like the actor. The business was inside, with a storefront opening. Customers waited outside, and lines became ridiculously long after the episode aired.

At that point, I thought the soup was good but not so good that it warranted such a long wait time in the cold.

I have led a full life.

You can have free speech and believe in it and still believe in being mindful about the words you choose.

Words do have power, if they didn't, we wouldn't use them.
If they didn't have power, one wouldn't react to another's comment about them having power because that comment wouldn't carry any weight at all.

What y'all are saying is fair. I shouldn't have said what I said, and for that, I apologize.

Michael Strahan just said Keenan Allen was the only WR in the league to have over 100 yards receiving in both games.

Remember how in week one so much of the media was claiming how absurd it was for the Bears to play Andy Dalton instead of Justin Fields against the Rams?

Fields completed 6 passes and got sacked 9 times against the Browns.

Perfect example of how little the talking heads actually know.

I do wish the Bears had played Fields. I wonder how many times he’d have been sacked.

You know most teams wanting to put their rookie QB in the best position to succeed would have probably moved the pocket, maybe some plays from college he was familiar with. Give the kid a chance. Bears just stuck him in the pocket with a horrible line and made him eat shit all day. Sorta looked to me like the HC was trying to prove a point instead of helping his QB be successful.

Claiming Fields sucks is not my point.

The media thinking that just because he had success in college and was an early first round pick means he’d have been a better choice to start the first game of the season instead of the experienced and proven QB was dumb. Especially against last years number 1 defense.

(BTW I don’t think Fields will ever be all that good)

I get your point about the media and I was trying to point out that the lousy offensive game plan for Fields could be in response to the media and fan pressure to play him. Everyone wants him to play, Fine, I'll show them what that will get them.

i've heard this a lot the last couple of days.

nagy is fighting for his head coaching career. do you think he would screw the bears chances to win, and thus himself, just to prove a point to talking heads?

maybe he's just a shit head coach.

There is no true news source anymore…even when it comes to sports. The digital age crushed that. Now it’s just “Media” reported the next click bate story. Facts have given way to shock value…SMH
Way to stay On Topic.

What the hell were you thinking!

Agreed. Maybe the media will at least get off his ass about the rookie QB now. I think Nagy is a weak head coach but I also am of the mind that he knows a thing or two about offense. So the piling on we've seen with this disbelief from all these analysts that the rookie is not ready to play has been some bullshit. They're acting like he's keeping Jesus Christ on the bench.

The athletic QBs like Fields can play early if you install a college offense. And some in the media I'm sure feel like that's what they should do. But IMO that's the worst thing a coach can do, is leeching wins to save his ass while he subjects the rookie QB to more hits than he should be taking. Of course you never hear that type of take from the media. They're too busy trying to get clicks with outlandish takes. Even the ones who have played this game and should know better. :laugh1:

I can't remember confidently who I debated this topic about Mina being hotter than Kay? @bluecoconuts I would like to retract my statements and formerly ask for forgiveness.

Wouldn't be me I prefer Mina Kimes. Kay Adams is pretty but something about her is off-putting to me, in which her Rams hate boner definitely contributes to.

Unless you want to apologise for hopping off the Mina Kimes train... If that's the case..
