Not a good sign. "where you from" is a punk move and just lame. Who cares where are you from ? Like it matters ?
Its the same mentality in which inner city gangs kill each other over such things.
All I want to know, was it before or after Peters and Talib just let 2 WRs just run right past them so deep a rainbow pass from Foles was completed ?
Where you from ? Its like the idiots who for some reason are proud of to fight over which "area code" you or they are from. Then they tattoo it on their skin.
Peters just needs to be worried about receivers running past him and tackling.
Myself, it looks like Peters is not too bright. Its about football, not where you are from.
I think we wasted a Round 2 pick :( hopefully this off season we can trade him and get something back if they do the 5th year option.

He'd be a excellent Bungels players or a Lion.

Trading him right now for a 5th or something would be some all time bad asset management.

His 5th year option was already declined by the chiefs. So this would be his last season w us unless we signed him to a contract. Only way I would sign him is of he came cheap. Which he won't because some team will overpay for him

Lol...small potatoes. This event won’t do anything to help or hurt our Oline’s abysmal performance the last three games. It won’t affect how well Reynolds catches the ball for 1st downs and TD’s, and it won’t affect how confident Jared Goff is in the pocket and stepping into his throws. This event is just frustration on display...I am really glad he didn’t punch that guy...lol

The way things look now we ain’t going to get shit for him anyways. Guess it’s a mute point with the trade deadline passed anyways come to think about it.

Oh really? So that’s in stone now? Going to be interesting.

Untrue. We picked up his 5th year option this past offseason so he is signed with us through 2019.

I was incorrect, he's already playing on his 5th year. So he's still going to be a FA by seasons end. I wouldn't mind letting him walk. He hasn't played very well this year.

I agree. And with his behavior to match with that. I’d rather draft a CB tbh and keep Talib to mentor him.

That 5th year is the only reason he's not cut yet IMO. Because the team realizes he's going to give it all he's got in his contract season. Then tank once he gets paid and hopefully for another team.

Yep. Chiefs fleeced us man. It's going to be irritating to see them scoop a strong DL with that late round 2 pick of ours.

Again untrue. He’s playing on his 4th year. The 5th year options takes effect in the 2019 season. So he will be a FA In 2020.

I love Ryan Clark.

"Rams need to attack this week and attack their problems" "They need to be like Marcus Peters going into the stands"

We need to get back to that Chutzpah we had early in the season. We need to get back to being the attackers and not willow away as 'darlings of LA'

I was wary of this trade all along. If he was such a good CB the Chiefs wouldn't have traded him. They shouldn't have picked up his option and let this season be his contract year. No way the Rams should even enter talks to extend him. I'd rather the Rams draft a lower round CB or UDFA with the skills and passion to play smart and hard every down.

Marcus Peters may prove to be more bust than success for the Rams

What some considered a risky trade during the free agency frenzy of the Los Angeles Rams may have come to fruition, as cornerback Marcus Peters looks to be more bust than success.

The Los Angeles Rams went on a free agency tear this past offseason, and while the jury may still be out on the 2018 NFL season as a whole, one acquisition made via trade that looks to be either a disappointment or a bust is that of cornerback Marcus Peters.

Peters, who the Rams traded a 2019 second round pick for, has been part of a defensive backfield that has failed as equally as they’ve succeeded. While some fans have gone out of their way to defend his sometime poor and lackadaisical play, a lot have said, begrudgingly, that he’s disappointed if not failed.

That’ll better be determined when the offseason eventually rolls around, but for now it’s completely fair to say he hasn’t provided the kind of pass coverage LA fans and certainly the organization has hoped for.

The bottom line is that his over-aggressiveness has too often led to big plays going the over way, especially against the New Orleans Saints when the Rams still had an opportunity late in the game to steal a big one on the road. For his efforts, Peters has allowed a 100.0 passer rating in six of eight games where he was the designated defender in coverage.

He’s clearly trending towards a bet the Rams had wagered and lost on.

Even with three interceptions, Peters and the Los Angeles defense has been burned with great regularity. With fellow cornerback Aqib Talib out for a chunk of the season, his limitations became an obvious and clear liability even with an offense clicking on all cylinders. Most troubling however may be some of those issues that led the Kansas City Chiefs to trade him without a second thought, as witnessed in their last home game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

To his credit and that of head coach Sean McVay, it may be an issue dealt with, but if his spotty play is any indication, the Rams may be getting burned in other ways beyond how he performs on the field.

Yeah we got schnookered. There is a chance he puts together a strong 2019 campaign since he's in a contract season, but for a round 2 pick we have received a dude who can't play the call at a consistent level, can't get his eyes out of the backfield, can't outgrow his street mentality, etc., etc., etc.

Les and his scouting minions need to leave no stone unturned on the projected FA market secondary options. We don't need big signings, we need players who will take coaching and play the call. This scheme can make DBs look really good if they just do their damn job.

Hold on to him for that FA season he has coming up and hope he balls out. And add a couple corners in FA and the draft who can improve our depth so that if he starts the season doing the same old $#!T you can actually sit him without the defense being worse.
