I've thought of this topic most recently like most have and which one we should prioritize and re-sign and I think today is another clear example of why Johnson is a clear cut favorite and leader why we need to retain him over Jenkins in the off season. Megatron had one catch for what? A hand full of yards and he had a pick 6!? I'm not trying to bask Jenkins but let's face it if he was guarding Megatron today he would of caught some clutch 1st downs and maybe a TD or two and we would of lost. I really do feel we should prioritize TJ22 what say you guys? Thoughts?

I'd like to keep them both.

I worry JJ is looking for the biggest payday he can get. But, he's the better CB.

I think Jenkins is the better corner but he will also command a much larger paycheck. I think Tru is more bang for your buck. His height also helps him a lot against the big receivers and in the red zone.

Jenkins is the better player for sure. Johnson had an awesome day today though, and an awesome year in general. I would most definitely prioritize them BOTH, even with Gaines coming back. With the 3 of them, plus Joyner and Roberson, if we re-sign McLeod and get back McDonald...we'd have an elite secondary. That's worth every penny of what they're asking.

Didn't vote cause I would prioritize both of them.

To prioritize is to place an order to them. Prioritizing them both means nothing. Every poster on this board would prioritize them. The post was about who we prioritize first of the two.

In that case it would be Jenkins

Whenever the poll was posted a few months ago I voted for Johnson then, and I'm gonna vote for him again.

Less questionable mistakes. Actually more turnovers.

For what its worth I would like to keep both. Jenkins will be looking for the bigger payday though.

Johnson, no doubt! Jenkins is smaller and takes too many chances/blows too many coverages. If one has to go it should be Jenkins, but keep both if at all possible!

Jenkins is the better CB. But I would prioritize Johnson for a few reasons:

a) Johnson should be cheaper to retain, freeing up cap dollars to spend elsewhere.
b) Johnson is less prone to giving up big plays due to mental errors
c) Johnson's size let's him match up better against big WRs.
d) I am concerned Jenkins is only finding consistency now because it is his contract year (I concede this part is speculation)
e) I feel Johnson is only a *slightly* lesser CB than Jenkins. There is little to choose between them, IMO. In fact, if we saw Tru go up against the other team's #1 WR every Sunday like Jenkins does, maybe he'd do just as well and I would rate them totally equal. But until that happens, I have to give the edge to Janoris.

Hopefully both are reasonable in how much they are asking for. I don't think we should cheap out on them - very good CBs will get paid and we have to acknowledge that. But with our depth in the secondary I wouldn't want the Rams spending above market value to retain either of them. If they want out of St. Louis and are asking for an inflated deal to stay, I would definitely use the franchise tag.

Both...No reason Rams can't keep both time to make some cuts and as much as it hurts me you need to start with James Laurinaitis...As the first cut is the deepest.

Jenkins is the better player.....He's a much better man coverage. He's equally as solid in zone, but often gets into trouble due to his style of play. He gambles. And I like that too...He can gamble and take risks because he is a superior athlete. The only advantage Johnson holds is his tackling. He is a physical player. I'm surprised his man coverage isn't better.

I'd prioritize Jenkins, franchise him if necessary. Since the Rams were already in negotiations, I'd assume he is also the FO's choice, and should be.

Johnson also has some injury concerns....Which given our history, scare me......

I'd try to keep both.. short term, 4 year deals...only 5 if they are cap/team friendly....

I agree. He has the ability to be a top tier shutdown corner. But he's going to cost a lot more. Tru Johnson is a quality corner and wouldn't command as much. Bottom line, if you want to keep your better players you're going to have to pony up.

JJ is a baller, but somebody like MIA is going to throw stupid money at him. He's worth around 7 million a year. He could wind up getting around 10 million. No thanks.

While JJ is the better player I can do without the risks he takes. His attitude is somewhat questionable in my eyes as well.I think once he gets a big contract he won't be the same.So unless he signs a cap friendly deal i'll roll with TJ and Gaines.

I have no problem lining Johnson and Gained up as starters next year. If JJ walks we are going to have to either draft a corner or prioritize a slot for one.
