I am very leery of backups. They can still hurt you. I know this as a Toronto Maple Leafs hockey fan. We lost to Carolina a few years ago when they were backstopped by a 41 year-old Zamboni driver after their regular goalies both got injured.

Plan for Joe but handle the backup. Don't get beat by a bunch of quick screens and short slants.

sounds like he's going to play. Hoping the secondary can keep up with those WRs.

burrow hasn't been able to complete 15-yard+ passes this season likely due to not being able to plant his legs and use his lower body.

this.
along with the fact Chase has said publicly that they need to take more shots downfield tells me they plan on playing dink and dunk all night

I felt all along he would play. They're getting real close to must win territory if they want to make the playoffs. Not only 0-2 overall but 0-2 in their division too. 0-3 is a hole you don't wanna have to dig out of.

It is a gamble. If he plays and aggravates the injury in a loss, their season is shot. That would be their worst case scenario. If he misses one more game and they lose, they still might be able go on a run if he gets one more week to heal. Best case scenario is if he avoids aggravating it and they win.

We need to send them to one of the first two scenarios.

I hope both of you are right. I'm still feeling worried about how our secondary will handle their WRs but if our Dline can get pressure quickly on Burrows then the chance of winning increases.

If Burrow plays he WILL leave the game more injured that before it started.
I wouldn’t wish a serious injury on any NFL player (well outside of some cheapshot 69er defenders) but if Burtow plays and we don’t flush and crush him then we missed a golden opportunity.

I'm not sure there's a need to blitz but what's gonna be really interesting is that the edge rushers will know exactly where he'll be in the pocket likely. I'm not just talking lack of pocket movement but most likely he'll be at similar depth on most throws (and they'll prob be looking to do quick game) but knowing what depth the QB will be is like having an extra pass rush move in your pocket.

We should AND BETTER, take advantage of that!

Just hope he doesn't "right the ship" against us. He's been pretty awful all year.

Says avtice on NFL.com but doesn't mean he's playing. Guess they'll find out

He's got a gimpy calf, it's not like he's playing with a broken leg. So much media drivel over this. Guys play hurt all the time. Burrow is a bit of a drama queen too, so he's not going to miss being on national tv getting drooled on by the broadcast.
