Wasn't it a trade, with signing him for a deal? He'd have been more expensive on the open market/free agency, which I believe he was about to enter following last season..

They traded for him, then after he had 5 okay games that led to wins they signed him to a huge contract before he could go free agent. Should have franchised him for less money, just to make sure that small sample size wasn't a fluke.

They could have franchise tagged him or signed him to a shorter Kirk Cousins type "prove it" contract.

Giving the most guaranteed money in NFL history to an unknown is setting yourself up for cap hell.

Jimmy G-String's off season contract made him the highest paid NFL player avg. $27.5 mil per year. So, 9ers shelled out the big bucks for him, with not much of a body of work to wholly justify it. Total contract was like $135 mil.

His knee buckled on that play, I noticed immediately. It was a non contact before someone touched him. You hate to see that man, I just texted my brother who's a Niners fan. They are getting ready to mourn already.
your brother too! yeah my little bro is bummed

The Niners waited until after the season was over & he had never lost a NFL game. Shanahan was a big part of the signing.

POS"S not only do they cheat but their division blows dead donkey scrotum!

I’m SOOOO rooting for the Dolphins next Sunday against the Pats.

If the Dolphins win, they are 4-0 and the Pats are 1-3 and essentially 4 games back. That means the Pats will have to go 11-1 the rest of the season and that presumes the Dolphins only go 7-5 the rest of the way.

Dolphins winning would be HUGE.

Wonder when the last time was that theynwere 2 games behind in that division..I think they still probably win it, but it will be nice to see them squirm if the hole gets any deeper

Exactly! I just realized today that the Dolphins are 3-0! Hell they have Quinn, wake, and McDonald plus others on that D! I'll be rooting for them like they are like the rams. I think our division is all but wrapped up.

And I'm going to enjoy every second of watching them unravel! I love watching Bellicheat all shitty on the sidelines not giving fans fives! lol and Brady losing his shit! This might be epic asf! muahahahahh!

I feel like we’ve been here before, when we think that the Pats run is over. And before you know it, they win 8 in a row and lead that crap division by 3 games.
I’ll believe it when I see it....

Yep The Witch is not dead until it's declared. They will have Josh Gordon & Edleman back and that will change things, although the defense is in trouble...I hope the Dolphins crush them, but when it comes to the Patriots I will believe it, when it's truly over.

Just think how badly they missed Brandin Cooks!! no way they’re 1-2 with Cooks playing.

The niners weren’t as good as their fans were hoping and they probably weren’t going to the playoffs but now they probably get a high pick next year and fix some of their holes.
