Get real Williams runs 4.65 while most DBs are running at least 4.5 but normally 4.4. Hell even Byron Young is bigger and faster than Williams. What does this mean? Williams is a good RB with good field vision. He's fine if all you want is a grinding chain mover. But he's no take it to the house threat like Taylor and McCaffery. No DC changes his game plan for Williams.

Williams is a slower version of Darren Sproles, who was a very good 3rd down RB. But Sproles has an explosive running style with 4.46 speed. Williams is good but he's no Sproles.

I think the Rams are looking at RBs in this draft. TreVeyon Henderson of Ohio State is the kind that they might target. He's 5'10" around 215 lbs and has an explosive running style with breakaway speed. Game analytics say he's probably 4.3-4.4 range. He also has decent hands as a receiver. He's the kind of good RB they can grab in the second round. Rookie RBs usually can play well in their first year as it's simply learning the playbook.

Good job by Indy, a 2-3 year big contract seems like the way to do RBs second contract. Gets them a big guaranteed payday but doesn’t handcuff a team past a couple of seasons.

I dont think we need a star RB (McCaffrey/Taylor) to get us over the hump. I think having a complimentary backfield is the way to go esp considering we have Staff at QB and Nacua/Kupp at WR.

I think we have a very good back with Kyren and Rivers may be a piece...but I like the approach of adding guys later on in the draft that specialize in certain things. I think we are on the right track.

Agreed, probably LT and edge are our biggest needs right now.

After the Philly game we may be calling for 3 or 4 more needs if things don't go as planned. Probably NT, ILB, CB and safety.

It's hard not to think what this team would look like if we had managed to get McCaffrey. He has made the 9ers nearly impossible to defend

Williams is a good enough type RB. But the run game isn't a threat. Do you think with this OL and a McCaffery level talent at RB this team would be 2-2? This team probably would be either 4-0 or 3-1. As long as the Rams have Williams as their #1 RB the opposition will forever play pass defense first. Sure Williams might break an occasional 10 yd run but who cares? The defense won't care.

That was the difference with Gurley, who could take it to the house from anywhere on the field. They will draft a bigger faster RB who is that kind of threat next year and they won't need a 1st round pick to do it. Taylor would have made this team a Lombardi contender this year. This team is capable of making it to the at least the divisional round maybe even the NFC championship game. But the seeding will be crucial for them this year.

ED was way underpaid due to the cheapness of Georgia. Worst owner in the history of the NFL - even worse than the SD owner.

Williams is a bit above average. He’s not a full load or game winning back, he’s a role player. Plain and simple.

Problem with that is, it makes the offense somewhat predictable. You look at a guy that does it all, (Faulk, SJax, Gurley, McCaffrey) and the defense cannot just look at the player and know that there’s a 85% chance it’s a run play (like with Akers). We need an all around back that is a threat to break the occasional big run. This offense was so exciting with that.
