Does McVay have any mentors he can lean on? Is there anyone in the organization who can tell him "no"?

He often does seem to react and fix things by the next week, but not in real time.

Also, did the announcers actually mention when Alaric Jackson went out? I just noticed Thomas in there at one point ...

So it took all of 3 games to begin questioning our coach in a year many recognized as devoid of the talent necessary to compete for the playoffs.
It's going to be a long year on the message board.

Everyone should get off a Mcvays nuts for a minute.

Dude is a phenom.

He is also young. The youngest to ever win a Super Bowl at 36.

Yea he failed to respond in obvious ways in the Cincy game. He ain’t perfect.

Look at the bigger picture. Damn.

@shake-n-bake McVay got us the first W in Seattle and kept us competitive v Whiners. Just poor overall game planning last night.

Hopefully, McVay can rewatch game film and see the lunacy of trying to throw the ball 75% of the time with injured linemen against a good front four.
+Kupp
+pass catching RB
+stability at RG snd LT
And I like our offense.

Just not sure that happens this year.

I feel the frustration, but to expect Kyren Williams to be able to handle 25-30 rush attempts in a game is not realistic. The man is 5'9, 195 lbs. He's a third-down back, not a bell cow. And we have NO ONE behind him. The pass-heavy game plan is a necessity, not a whim.

Sorry, but no. He's been the Head Coach now for 6 plus years and it's about time for him to up his game. His failure to improvise, adapt and overcome when things aren't going his way in a game is sorely lacking. This problem actually goes back to the Super Bowl he lost when he wouldn't improvise or revise his play calls and the Patriots knew what plays were coming before we snapped the ball.

Enough of the excuses and "I gotta do a better job of coaching...." or whatever. Make the needed changes and grow as a coach.....

He has to have a Plan B and even C when stuff like injuries happen. He can't keep doing the same thing and expect a different outcome when stuff ain't working.
Last night should be his wakeup call. I hope he's paying attention......

No one is claiming the dude can't get better or shouldn't.

He does need to get better at calibrating in-game quicker.

I am as pissed as anyone with Mcvay's lack of understanding what the hell was going on out there and making the changes.

His failure to do so cost us the game.

Thomas was getting his ass handled and the response was nonexistent. It was keep on throwing with no TE or RB over there.

But those that are calling for his head be careful what you wish for.

I remember when the fanbase wanted Warner out of town. They forgot his value. That was the end of the Rams for a few decades. Meanwhile he leads Zona to the SuperBowl.

McVay took over as head coach of a team that had 13 straight non-winning seasons. He then immediately led the Rams to five straight winning seasons, including 4 trips to the playoffs and 2 Super Bowl appearances, winning one.

Youngest head coach to appear in a SB, win one, and to be named Coach of the Year.

The dude's a bum!

As it has often been said, the NFL is a league of what have you done for me lately. I don't want to see McVay replaced but I do want to see him learn from his mistakes.

Both things can be true. He is definitely an elite head coach. And he also definitely needs to keep developing and learning some of the lessons that periodically bite him in the ass.

McVay is culpable in the O line issue, but where in the hell was the O line coach? He should have been lobbying to get his left tackle help!
And the other coaches should be trying to get McVay to run the ball more as well. We do have more than one running back, if work load is the issue. We also have more than one tight end!

before the season started everyone thought we would get wiped across the floor with teams like the bengals...

the fact that it was even competitive is because mcvays coaching this year...

ill agree he didnt have a great game as a coach... but we were supposed to suck ass this year according to everyone.. and we havent

and a big part of that is mcvay.
