From the little i've seen of Kiser, he isn't much of an upgrade over Reeder. I hope the Rams improve on both these guys this off-season.

really don’t know what games you’ve been watching. There is a reason this article was posted.

Micah Kiser has played alright, but Reeder is taking it to another level. He is solid getting players in position on play calls. —I will say he doesn’t always pick the right hole to hit,and misses a couple tackles because of it.

Kenny Young has started to really upgraded his play as well.I’m not talking about just the Pick 6.He had a sack as well as covering.

I don't know if he's the real deal, but he's certainly exceeded my expectations.

I was just thinking before this article that was posted about his play of late.

JL55 was a big part of The Rams history. He played hard & would get to the QB. Pisa as well.

Of course it is way to early to say how good Reeder is,but I have noticed his play of late vs earlier when Kiser took the MLB spot back & Reeder is just a special teams guy.

I like how he is getting to the flat on the Right Side on screens & short passes. Troy Hill comes up well on the run as well.

The Rams D” Front is making it easier for the MLB though.

He is good enough. He is what we got at the moment and he looks to be adjusting well. I would like to see how he plays in coming weeks.

I like Reeder (PFF grade 69.3.) over Kiser (Pro Football Focus grade 40.1.)

I definitely like Reeder. I liked the little we saw last year. And people saying he is slow....what? He doesn't seem slow at all to me.

I dont know that he is a starter, long term. He is the best we have right now. And could develope into something solid. We still need an upgrade.

The proof will be how opposition TEs do against the Rams defense. I’m not seeing any problems for the remainder of this regular season.

Reeder has improved to serviceable starter level vs a run heavy team.

Vs running QB’s and underneath routes, he‘s a liability.

Im rooting for him.

I disagree he's not a liability. A MIKE in Staley's scheme is primarily to flow with the play. On passing downs he's covering the A gaps and like the other ILB he's in zone coverage. He hasn't been a liability over the last few games. You need to quit relying upon PFF. Troy has started 4 games. This year he's got 37 solo tackles and 16 assists. For a guy that is a liability against running QB's he has 3 sacks and 3 TFL. Also how well did Murray fare? Troy has only played 30% of the defensive snaps. Most of all he's been durable something that Kiser isn't. Kenny Young and the safeties are the coverage guys. Kiser has played 9 games with no sacks, no TFL, despite playing 100% of the defenisve snaps in 5 of those games and close to 90% or more in the rest. That is not to take anything away from Kiser, only to point out that they are not played the same by Staley. IMO Kiser may not make this team next year. His frequent injuries have opened the door for Reeder and Young (who plays as the second ILB)

Staley has found his defense is actually more effective when playing 3 safeties and he's reduced the role of the MIKE. So I'd say given his opportunities Troy has played well overall and not the liability that some (including PFF would suggest). Reeder is a scheme player and when played as such he's been pretty effective. IMO he's earned the start by continuing to improve and being impactful when he plays. I would be surprised if he isn't extended in 2022. Troy Reeder is a role player and he plays it well. Every team needs guys like him.

I like Reeder. He's a good guy and he plays hard, but I'd still like to see a very fast but strong thumper at MLB. A guy with sideline to sideline speed that can ruin plays and take the edge away like Warner does to the Rams.

Micah Kiser gets injured too often and isn't fast enough either. A stud linebacker would be lethal in this defense with such a good secondary and Defensive line.

If this necro shows one thing, it's that Reeder has changed some minds... from an almost universal "no" to a mostly "against a run heavy team, he's okay, otherwise a solid backup".

That's decent growth for the kid.

Reeder has played surprisingly well, given his lack of athletic ability.

Noticeably a step slower than most other guys out there. But he’s played pretty well despite that.

When you can just read and react it increases your game speed. When you have to think it slows you down, the more opportunities he gets the more his game speed should increase.

I think he's improved considerably and is now a solid back up, however he's a product of really good coaching. Staley adjusted the scheme for him when he was awful earlier in the season so he could concentrate on what he does best. I'd be very surprised and eat all the crow if he's the starter next year.
