The 49er's starters seemed to be enjoying themselves while beating a group of 2nd and 3rd stringers yesterday.

I did not like that. Not one bit.

If I am a player or coach I'm not going to forget that. In fact if I was McVay I'd instruct the film guy to do a cut-up montage of the players hot-dogging and talking shit after several plays. I'd show that to the Rams in the locker room before each game this post season and let them know we rested for a reason, lets go make it the right decision.

Then next year I'd show it to the team before the first 49ers game and tell the team, especially Gurley, Goff and the WR's to remind the 49er's "sorry, no backups today" after each big play .

If I was a player I would really, really, REALLY want to rub their noses in it for taunting and showboating on a field full of backups that also happened to be my team mates.

You can add Shanny to that list with his passing late in the game knowing it was over and a preseason game.

McVay always took it easy once a game was out of hand, lots of runs and FGs. Looks like the Shanahan/McVay friendship may not be as close as I thought. Just shows the Rams got the more classy coach. So glad things turned out the way they did coach wise.

Play to win....and allow celebration as a reward for a job well done...they "earned" it.

I can respect that thought, but I still say doing it on a bunch of backups is pretty lame and I'd remind them of that next season.

Whatever makes them feel better about themselves. After seeing Jimmy G play I'm not all that impressed by him, dude doesn't take care of the ball.

He's got what 6 games with 7 TD's and 5 picks? That's about 18 TD's and 13 picks over the course of a full season. Nothing about that blows me away, especially when he was playing against bad teams (other than the Jags who did not play their best in my opinion) and then our backups.

Color me underwhelmed by it all.

Passing on 1st down leading by 21 with around 5 minutes to play was a bit much . I'm sure it will be remembered

Here's how I look at yesterday's game. We treated yesterday as a preseason game. IMO, we didn't do anything in any phase of the game to really give us a chance to win. As much as McVay and the players stated we went into this game to win, we didn't. We came out with no injuries to our backups and got some key players a game off with some additional rest.

With that said, we didn't have anything to prove and the Whiners did. Essentially it was their super bowl. At this point, all their celebrating, passing at the end of the game, etc. etc. means absolutely nothing to me, nor should it to this team, right now. We are in the playoffs and they are going to be watching. Don't for one minute think our players will forget about the game when we face them for the first time in 2018. As a player and coach, I always remembered when a team tried to "rub it in our face," we got our redemption, more times than not, the next time we played.

Right now we're focused on the playoffs and not a team who ended up 6-10.

I don't think Sean McVay is going to waste his brain power and time worrying about San Francisco hot doggin it.

It's kind of sad really that yesterday was their Super Bowl when you think about it.

The Rams have been there and done that. :D

He's competitive and if you saw the expression on his face he looked a little pissy.

I did notice Shannahan figured it out and toned it down on the final possession, I most definitely noticed the possession before and was actually hoping they’d keep it up, I hope those dopes got their yucks in while they were available

Pretty sure the Rams also noticed

Hey!, let them get all their giggles in now . . . because they won't be able to giggle again for a very llloooonnngg time! Battering Ram dynasty on the rise!---even if we stumble and fall this post-season.

The all time NFL record for a thorough butt-whipping (and in a championship game, no less!) was the 73-0 pasting the Chicago Bears laid on the hapless Washington Redskins in 1940. If the '9ers pissed off Sean, he just might ask his team to reach for new heights.

The Rams next year will let their play on the field once again be their celebration. Did we have a single group celebration all year?

congrats on their 6th win of the year. at least they didnt tank it out for a top 3 pick. of course, now they wont be adding a top 3 pick either. i'll be impressed if they can put 30+ points on the Rams next year with the full defense and offense on the field. remember, if the offense is playing well, then their savior qb is on the bench, which i've yet to see a qb score points while sitting on the bench. the only person i've ever seen change a play's outcome on the sideline is mike tomlin of the steelers (there's been a handful, but he comes to mind most recently). as for their supposed running up the score , good for them. enjoy your 6 victories!! enjoy the playoffs too, at home. watching on tv.

every team will have a full off-season to watch other teams. i'm sure jimmy g will be high on the priority list of opponents DC's as well. watch this video. this guy found mistakes quickly enough, and found what he does well. if the league could adjust to other good qb's , i dont think he will be the exception.

yeah...right before I turned the game off, I mentioned to the wife that McVay didn't look too happy and at one point it seemed to me he was glaring across the field at Kyle
