I was pulling for Pead too, but thay fumble was just unacceptable. Also, why in hell he is taking out kicks instead of Benny is clearly waaaay over my head, was Benny not first in the NFC in average kick return yards last year?

Oh well, was nice to know you Isaiah, but he's gonna have to show a lot to get back in my good books at least.

Gonna have to disagree with the idea that a starting RB should 't be running back kicks. Especially when he is so much better than anyone else on the team at it. It's only another 4-5(dont know the exact number) runs per game, nothing a professional
athlete shoudn't be able to handle.
It's not like we have to save Benny for the rest of the season either, he's our 3rd string back once Mason and Gurley are healthy...
As far as it increasing injury risk, i dont see that much difference to Tavon returning punts. You put your best players out there to do the jobs that they are best at.
I understand people are gonna disagree with me, but I'm not gonna change my mind on this one. Anyway, back to celebrating :D

Is it? He was already fourth on the depth chart. And maybe fifth if not for watts suspension.

If we keep Pead because he is good at special teams, then fine. I do not want the guy returning kicks or being a RB. He is a special teams guy only, like Reynolds. If Mason can't go Sunday I cut Pead and promote Brown. Brown is a better RB and Benny needs a backup.

I felt like I was in the minority when arguing that Cunningham should play over Pead. Benny had a heck of a game and has been a very good player for us. I feel very comfortable with him out there. Once Tre and Todd are healthy we will have one insane RB group.

I agree
When you say a starting running back should also be able to return kicks, but not when you factor in the fact that we only had 2 RB's that could run the ball for us yesterday (Benny & Pead).. Especially when you factor in that Pead is still a unproven back.. Could cunningham return kicks and still carry the load offensively? Yeah I sure he could easily, but why risk getting our only proven back injuried on anything less than an offensive snap.. It's just not worth it, know matter your point of view..

Have Tavon return kicks, or here is a novel concept, have your best hands guy back there and once the ball is caught in the end zone have them take a knee. Why are we constantly returning kicks out of the end zone and not getting to the 20. It's stupid.

Remember when you said he was better and surpassed Benny. Sorry bro I luv u man but you have a crazy man crush on pead.
I remember it, and stand by it....One play cannot change my opinion....He's a better back. Benny is a good back as well. Not sure what is wrong with Pead. He looks like he's ready to contribute, then this....And it was a nice run. The Tavon runs were starting to piss me off...Benny was running very hard, probably still averaged less than 4 ypc. He's an excellent receiving rb. because he's great with yards after contact....Still reminds me of the comment about "meat on the bone" on some of his runs though....I'd love to see what Gurley & Mason would do...Pead too.
Crazy man crush on Pead:ROFLMAO:..too funny, naw I just call it like I see it....I was crying from the mountain top a couple years ago about Benny too....Just on highlights from college & his workout video...Dude is ripped. But Pead is a superior runner...
If he was a fumbler, do you think Fish would allow him to return KO? If he was a fumbler, would Fish keep him back there after fumbling? Fumbling happens...It's unfortunate, it loses games, but it happens. Several have said if we cut everyone that made a mistake in week one, we wouldn't have a team in 4 weeks or so....LOL...
Short leash, hell yes....Maybe a poison pill if he loses a fumble in a tight game...But I'd give him some carries EARLY in the game, get him warm...Relaxed...Confident. You gotta admit, watching Tavon take snaps at TB over you may shake you up a bit...3 1/2 quarters, THEN you get to touch the rock? Seemed kinda strange...But Fish is the coach. Guys play better when they know what's happening, what their role is.....Get him in the game early...
And I'm not bashing any of our backs....I just wanna win...;)(y)

Not necessarily, i would say that the amount of time between the KO and the point at which the first play takes place is plenty of time to catch your breath. These guys are paid to run with the football, if they cant return a kick off and then run another play 30-40 seconds later then thats a problem IMO.

Or even, as FRO says, if you really don't want to have Benny doing KO's then just put your guy with the best hands there and take a knee on every kick. I'd rather start every drive at the 20 than Pead try and return it, to get tackled after 10-15 yards.

I felt he did as a RB. Pead had a very good game with Rams starters against the Cheifs backups. It's year 4 for Pead and he is still killing us with his mental errors. I feel like the Pead supporters are caught up with his obvious physical ability, but mentally the guy isn't cutting it. I would rather take my chances with Brown than give Pead another opportunity. Heck I would put Reynolds in at RB before Pead. I'm done with the guy. He has had his chances and has failed.

At least Brown doesn't have a history of fumbles. Who knows what the future holds for him. At this point we know what Pead is.

I'm still surprised he's even on the roster, I personally liked what Brown had to offer myself. When I heard he was going to be the #2 yesterday I cringed and even more so watching that ball come loose. Him getting cut might be the best thing for him as well.
