Hey, I was in a similar position my first year in Mexico. Not every game but many of them. So I disconnected from my usual routine and simply stayed away. It's a small price to pay for domestic harmony. I've got many other interests so it wasn't hard. Normally I just went fishing or shooting. Fishing if I wanted to relax and target shooting if I wanted to release frustration or anger.

I enjoy watching the game with my GF so if she asked I would record and ignore it. Think of it this way. Would you want her to lie to you? Don't lose perspective, it's just a game. You need to look into a VPN and streaming TV service as I did. My neighbor in Mexico told me about the way I'm doing it.

Direct TV is a bunch of holes. That said they are completely hamstrung by the greed of the NFL note their blackout policy. If they really wanted to make the NFL the most popular sport worldwide they would make it easier to follow domestically and internationally.

If you already have gamepass international, why not just get a 12.00 a month vpn and switch countries?
Not sure what you mean. I'm locked into Sky at £10 per month (but I do watch other stuff like soccer, cricket and they also have the Ryder Cup). NFL GamePass comes out at about £12.50 per month for the year so I'm not sure how I'd save money with a VPN?

Put a hit of speed in her beverage at night so she is wide awake then tell her. well since you are up, might as well watch the game
If only I had some Adderal left.

Sadly, they can't prescribe it in the UK so I have to try and focus like normal people and taking 5 at once is a happy path I can no longer wander down.

Feel free to FedEx me some and it is close to shroom season here but not sure that will work tbf.

Living on the East coast all my life and being a Rams fan, I’ve almost always had to watch delayed which is pure torture. It is incredibly hard not to find out about the game. And as hard as you try to lie about it, SHE WILL KNOW by your demeanor. Sometime during the game, your inner fandom will ooze out no matter how much effort you put into the charade. So do this: Both of you go to bed early that night. Tape the game. Set the alarm for 4am. Both get up, have a tailgate breakfast, watch the game fast forwarding through commercials, and you can still make it to work, having a wonderful day after a Rams victory. Then, there is no stress of trying to cover a lie, no dodging NFL info all day, and no sleeping on the couch for a week.

There's five primetime games - so I'd tell her if she really wants to watch it live, she has to watch it with you and figure out what to do for those five days.

It will be completely impossible to not check the score, so you might as well just watch the game live.

I got some Ritalin, but you're gonna have to cough up a lot of quid if you want any.

Because I have to sign a contract with Sky that means I'm shelling £330 which is over $450 to be sure I can see all the game.
you could have avoided paying for SKY by using a VPN and lifting the blackout.

Sooo, she wants me to record it and watch it together when she gets home on Monday.

That would mean me avoiding this board and every other NFL source I check all day Monday and I really love reading immediately after games.

Let her know you are going to watch it, but won’t tell her the outcome when she gets home.

IF she didn’t slip up and hear the result herself… stay mum and watch together. For you… enjoy the rewatch. For her, not much different.

If you can watch the game, watch it. Do all your post game victory routines… enjoy it all.

Then… watch it with her.

Everyone wins.

Besides, she knows your a rabid fan… a notch above her. If she doesn’t see that she’s a bitch.

Gotta attend a family shin dig on Saturday/Sunday and not sure if I'll be back in time for the game. So shitty. About to pretend like I have the COVID.

Buy yourself a fire stick. Download Kodi on it. Download the app The Crew and you can watch live sports. Even recorded games show up about a half day later.
You can find out how to do all of this via YouTube. Super easy

Can't help you with the wifey thing tho lol

Are you a good actor? Watch it and pretned you didn't. It's a minor lying by omission for her entertainment purposes. Just act surprised at certain plays and cheer like hell for big plays as you normally would. Berate the refs if that's what you do. Get up during commercials and get snacks and stuff ready and if you miss a play (the 2nd time) ask what happened. But don't get it to where she suspects you've seen it and questions you. If that happens you could blow it. In other words be yourself and she'll still (unsuspectingly) have fun along with you.
You're doing this for her. :thumbsup1:
Some of the worst advice ever right here :thumbsup1:

This is just dumb.

We already know the Rams won this game!
