If this draft is another bust then I think Snead should shave his head except for a small tuft representing the Aaron Donald pick.

They took two TEs last year but we don't know if either one of them really fits what McVay wants to do here. Again... we really can't look at draft capital we used with Fish and think we got good offensive talent. I just hope Goff is the real deal - which I believe he is - and that this is the TE this offense needs. We all bemoan how other teams use their TEs so successfully while we don't. Maybe this puts that behind us.
Can you imagine if we finally are able to actually move the ball and score like a normal team? We will go apesh!t! Having a Gronk type monster that is a nightmare to tackle will get us that extra yard we always come up short. I see why they drafted him.

The top 2 are
Starter
S to sure
When? 2018....Everett won't start over Higbee....I actually like Hemingway better than Higbee...more physical...TE's take about a year to develop.
Kupp plays Pharoh Cooper & Spruuuuce's position...primarily...He'll have to beat out...Mike Thomas & Tavon on the outside...not impossible...but lets see.
Neither of these guys starts in 2017

Bleacher gave our draft a C so far, says both Everett and Kupp "were both reaches for the Rams."
both were over drafted with the talent that remained on the board when they were selected. Probably selected these guys a round too high....

See 503's comment. Who knows what they think, really think of the Fisher talent?
TE, WR, and Safety....
Everette is safe....
Kupp is really solid...
Johnson is a risk...
Everett has some ability...same as any TE drafted...top 5 on most boards. I too question why they didn't like Kittle?
Kupp is ole school. His family comes from professional sports. He runs routes like a pro...has big hands...if he didn't run that slow 40...with all our other slow wr's (Spruuuuce, Cooper) I feel we've thrown a lot into this position in the last 2 years....
Johnson ran that fast 40...ex-wr, great ball skills. I bet he moves to corner.

I'm not overly impressed, but we basically handcuffed ourselves with last years trade up.

The Rams were in need of a pass catching TE. They cut Cook last year, then same for Kendrick this year.

This guy on Walters football is rated 3 best TE. They compare him to Reed a little.
I think they really did there home work. Trading back in front of Da Bears who draft a TE with there next pick.

Higbee is 2nd rd talent & was a steal , because of huttubgba guy.Had court dates , plus was injuries.
Hemming way is a that has all the tool skill set ,but is raw.

Sneed did an excellent job with The draft.
Had to fill the TE spot. Got A guy they like.My concern is his hand size.

Then it was a deep WR draft. They got Kupp.

To add a extra pick & still get the players they wanted is cool. The DB they really like . They really needed to fill the FS spot now that TJ left. Bones thinks he is a Too Special teams player as well.Solid tackler.

I actually like Higbee more than Everett.....but I question his toughness. Hemingway is a developmental TE. I'd call Everett a developmental TE as well...and I don't like TE's with small hands...since TE's are supposed to be these hulking giants. Small school developmental project. And, while I like the player, there were SEVERAL that were more pro ready, at positions of need. But we need all positions.

Kupp looks like he can play...but he plays a position that we seem to be loaded in...slot wrs...we need another slot wr like I need a hole in my head.

Clearly....our team is in flux.

Just because Eastern put him in the slot doesn't mean McVay will. All of our receivers are going to move around.

Yep, its all about Goff. I've always maintained if you find your franchise quarterback, you will always be a contender. The good quarterbacks can offset other areas that are deficient. Even disguise those deficiencies. Atlanta and Green Bay were in the NFC Title game with bad defenses. Great quarterback play got them there.

I don't know if Goff will be that guy. But if we didn't address the quarterback situation, we could be stuck in limbo for years with backup caliber quarterbacks. At least we have some hope with Goff. And it looks like they're gearing up to give him what he needs.

Zay doesn't play any faster than Kupp. Kupp is the same size as Zay, is a more skilled route runner, and has better hands. And we managed to get Everett + Johnson for Zay.(while still getting Kupp)

Whether he's a #1, a #2, or a #3, he's going to produce consistently for us. He'll be a reliable target week in and week out. I don't care what he's labeled as because I feel confident he'll produce more than his fair share of 1000+ yard seasons. We got ourselves a football player.

It's a bit weird to me to cite competition while saying you wanted Zay Jones. Zay played at ECU. The competition he faced was on average quite a bit worse than the Pac-12. So I'd say Kupp destroying the Pac-12 is a pretty big deal.

As for those teams, Oregon State was 7-6 that year (it was the year that Sean Mannion threw for a buttload of TDs and yards with Brandin Cooks; Kupp faced off against future 3rd round pick and Chiefs starting CB Steven Nelson), Oregon was 9-4 that year, Washington State went 8-5, and Washington went 8-6.

Basically, every single one of the Pac-12 teams he faced went to a bowl game that year. The Washington team he faced had Marcus Peters (first round pick), Sidney Jones (second round pick), Budda Baker (second round pick), and Kevin King (second round pick) in its secondary. Kupp put up 145 yards and 3 TDs. His three TDs came against Peters and Baker.

Kid can play. Trust me.

We should let him know that he needs to continue the John Johnson legacy haha.
Glad I read the thread before responding. My thoughts wrapped up exactly!

Kupp is going to be a freaking beast!
Woods will be a very nice complement where Tavon will be used as he should be as a mismatch nightmare.

Very excited for every phase except the middle to right side of our o line. I feel that is our biggest question mark right now.

John Sullivan:
Few have been better at the position since 2009, when Sullivan first took over the starting center job in Minnesota. He's started 93 of the last 96 games for the Vikings, all while steadily developing into one of the league's most dependable interior linemen.

In fact, "dominant" might be the better word.

According to Pro Football Focus, Sullivan graded (plus-81.7)out as a site's top center in the league 2011-2014. Sullivan finished as PFF's best center in 2012 and third-best in 2011 and 2013.

To bad it's not 2009.
Or 2014.
3 years ago is light years in the NFL which is why they Not For Long. He's a question mark to see if he'll be what he was or healthy for that part.

As far as I'm concerned him and everybody to to right is a concern. And that's not even considering Saffold pulling something from taking a crazy dump.
