Here’s the problem with our Rams

1. This team has yet to play a complete game folks. The Cards game has been the closest to a complete game, but we know they can play even better than that!

2. Where's the offensive genius of McVay? It's apparent that teams have duplicated the way the Pat's defended the Rams in the SB. McVay has been slow (to put it midly) in adjusting the offensive scheme against opposing defenses...BUT...it *seems* he has come around as the offensive attack against the Cards incorporated using Gurley and the TEs much more in the pass game.

3. On defense...I think Phillip's is too in love with his 34 defense scheme. He needs to sometimes come with a stout 43 front against the run with teams electing to double and triple AD. We've seen it...but it needs to be more!

The Rams really have yet to show the ATTITUDE of last year....and IT'S PAST TIME TO BRING IT.

Sunday night...IS THAT TIME...DEMOLISH THE HAGS!!!

What they did against the Cards likely won’t be replicated until the Rams play the Cards again.
The Cards are 30th vs the pass. The D also controlled the Cards O enough to not put pressure on the Rams O.
The Rams moved the ball vs Seattle mostly through the air. I expect a lot of passing versus Seattle. These next three weeks the Rams will have to control the other team running the ball and possess the call themselves. It can be short passing or running or a mix. The margin for error with this team the next three weeks is razor thin.
The D gave up 30 points last time the Rams player Seattle.

I'm going to rebuttal a couple of things you said, it's just my $.02.

1. We have played a couple of complete games. I would say, in the Saints game and Cards game. No game is going to be perfect but you can't get much closer than a 34-7 and 27-9 victories.

2. I do agree he has been very slow to adjust his playcalling. Even now I still see some of the same things that drive me a little crazy. For the most part I think they still work you just can't be so obvious about it. I expect it to keep on evolving and hopefully getting better and better week by week.

3. I don't think Wade is too in love with his 3-4 scheme. He plays a hybrid 3-4 and often lines up as a traditional 4-3 defense. He's not afraid to mix it up. Where Wade falls short is the lack of OLB and ILB beef vs. the run. It's been a problem since he's been here and it really hasn't gotten that much better. I know we are ranked high vs. the run but a lot of that is skewed due to the fact that we played some really bad teams and some really bad running teams. Teams that are good running teams, we have struggled mightily against. Seahags, 9ers, and Ravens walked all over our D running the ball.
I do get frustrated as well when you have 3 guys blocking AD and no one else gets home. However, if you watch the Ravens game you'll see that any QB besides Jackson and Wilson would have been sacked 5 or 6 times in that game. Which would have changed the final score dramatically.

The Rams need another dominant DLine presence. Consider the difference in the Bears defense without Hicks. There is no way to fix that this year. Brockers is hot and cold, SJD has been improving all year but he isn’t a dominant lane clogger like Snacks Harrison. Fowler is good but again he’s not dominant either. Until the get AD some upgrades to play on the DLine, he will continue to get doubled.


The lack of a true lane clogger makes the Rams very weak against power running schemes. I was hoping that acquiring Ramsey would allow for more man coverage, and more resources committed to stop the run.

The Cardinals gave the Niners trouble. They committed to stoping the run. Garapolo isn’t able to carry the team with his arm on most days. I’d like to see more of what we saw at Arizona with the offense. Goff rolling out, getting rid of the ball quicker and more misdirection worked well. Maybe it will work against the Niners and Seahawks.

A win against the Shehawks would go a long way in building confidence with this team.

Rams need this, Rams need that. Rams offense has struggled, except when it's looked amazing. Rams defense has played a few bad games, and a few dominant ones. McVay has made some mistakes. But guess what? All of these guys are going up against another human being who is trying to beat them.

Guess who has been bad against basically no opposition? Greg Zuerlein.

If he makes that kick in Seattle and the Niners lose to the Saints Sunday (which is very likely to happen), we control our own destiny to WIN THE NFC WEST.

I agree with this 100%
The really cool thing is, i can agree with that without throwing darts at the GM, HC or the QB.

Another thing, if a down year means going 10-6,
9-7 or 8-8 and missing the playoffs i'm all for it. That's historically what down years look like for the Packers, Steelers, Patriots, Seahawks, Chiefs, Saints of the world.

I happen to believe the Rams are now in the hands of a competent regime (and QB). Peaks and valleys happen to all teams, obviously, but for most teams bottoming out means
2-14, 3-13, 4-12....remember that? I do. Does anyone here honestly <--------
see one of those type of seasons around the corner? I don't. I think if Goff and AD had both gone on IR week 3 this team would have still found a way to go find 7 or 8 wins out of this season because of the front office, coaching and overall talent here.

I have to wonder if some fans are just crabby or lack perspective over a 7-5 "good" team that just isn't as good as last seasons 13-3 elite team.

Only thing I see is we’re turning the corner on a horrific OL transition period. I think the whole team is clicking more comfortably with some bigger bodies and more competence up front.

No way that happens.

I flew across the country to go to the Bears game 2 weeks ago, who have a much larger national fan base.

It was about 25-30% Bear fans.

TV completely distorts the attendance, showing only the “show off” fans in lower level. If you paint your face and act stupidly, you’ll get some TV time.

And that contributes to the narrative...

Not even close. They've yet to since we've returned and our fanbase is getting stronger. We filled that place for the Ravens game. As we usually do for the primetime games. I've been to every Seahag game since we've been back and no... they will be lucky to have 20%

Everyone was complaining about Suh all year that he wasn’t taking advantage of AD being doubled constantly. Until the playoffs when he started destroying. Statistically the Rams are much better against the run without him.
