Here's hoping Shanny doesn't get a head coaching gig

When we opened 2000 against the Broncos, I thought Shanny was brilliant though we beat him. If I had to choose one OC to devise a game plan for one game, it would be him. The season will be contingent on health and talent. But for strategy, it's Shanny, Martz, Gase, McDaniels, Chud, for me. Ya, I know...mixed bag and I'm sure I've missed some underrated OCs. Just 2c from a geezer

I posted this same Op about a week ago.

Would love the move. He and fisher are Friends and he has a run first mantra just like Fisher but is smart enough to adjust his system to the players he currently has. We would be very tough to beat with Shanny at control of this offense. He would definetly find a way to use tavon something shotty hasnt really figured out yet.

The guy to really consider is Rick Dennison. He's currently the QB coach with the Ravens and was the OC with the Texans under Kubiak, but he's the guy that trained under OLine guru Alex Gibbs and knows how to build that zone blocking rushing attack.

I don't expect Shanahan to take an OC job. Plus, I don't think he's a great fit here because Boudreau runs an PBS while Shanahan runs Alex Gibbs's version of the ZBS. So unless we're dumping Boudreau, I just don't see it being a match made in heaven.

When I cant argue with you about needing a new OC I don't think Fisher is done with Schotty until we have the same results next season and then it'll be time to get a new OC.

If we get the same results next year, it will be Fisher we'll be moving on from. So, I really doubt he shares your lack of urgency.

I don't know if Schotty was the problem or not. I'd be thrilled if Shanahan came here, but I'm not sure that's realistic. But I do know that Fisher will live/die with whatever decision he makes at OC this offseason. If Schotty isn't the problem and Fish wants to give him one more year, he better be damn sure that it's the right call.
