I like all the moves....I thought Peters could cover better, glad he's been sent packing and Ramsey is head & shoulders better and IMO, Ramsey will be on his best behavior now being on the big stage.

Austin Corbett offers an opportunity and I believe it's someone Kromer liked coming out. Quick feet and I would love to see the Rams give him a shot at LG as I am concerned how long Noteboom's rehab will take tearing both the ACL & MCL.

Kenny Young is a player I loved at UCLA so I'm anxious to see him in this defense, so over all, I'm happy as a clam.

So who else will we get for the Oline before the trade deadline? Maybe a Practice Squad guy on some other team?

The most important guy right now in the Rams organization is Kromer.

They spent 5 draft picks in the last two drafts on the OL. Add in Corbett and even an UDFA like Brewer, that's 7 young guys at a critical need area.

If Kromer can get 3 of those guys to be good players, then they will be in good shape.... Although 3 plus Havenstein still leaves you a guy short, but you can still get vet outside help as well.

So he has to get 3 quality starters out of that group who can play cheaply for the next few yrs. He does that, then this all works out fine.

No, we paid a fair price for a player that was taken too high and hasn't panned out. And because of bias, we're calling him better than he is. Then we bought super high on a position that doesn't warrant that kind of capital surrender, especially given our glaring holes in other more important areas, and looking ahead to how many current Rams we're going to be saying goodbye to next season. Is Ramsey better than who we would draft in the 1st next year? The odds are astronomically in favor of that. However, the big value to a 1st round pick isn't whether they'll immediately be elite or not, it's the 5 years of control at a low price. We're buying Ramsey at the absolute highest point. He and his agent are going to bend the team over the barrel and make them give up, what, 16 million a year for him probably? And then what happens? Oh, he'll "keep getting better"? Because as we all know, every player who ever signs a huge deal with giant guaranteed money ALWAYS lives up to that contract and doesn't develop fat cat syndrome. Right? And given Ramsey's already proven low-value-human mentality, betting on him working hard to ensure the team gets every nickel of value out of whatever absurd deal he's about to get is far from a sure thing. When you factor in that we're taking a guy with serious maturity and headcase issues and plopping him into Hollywood (which is a bad place for a guy like him) makes it even worse.

The only positions on the field worthy of giving up multiple 1sts are QB, LT, and LB. Full stop. With the only exceptions being if you happen to come along a generational talent like Donald. Ramsey's a great player, but he's not generational.
What the Rams did was give Wade's D the ability to be better than average. I'd give up 2 1sts and a 4th or whatever it was to ensure that AD can get to the QB. We have been wasting AD's talent by having to run soft zone coverage because no one could man up. You'll see, and be eating crow sooner rather than later.

The Ramsey move mortgages the future. The O-line is in shambles and big Whit isn't getting any younger. The Rams are going to need a star tackle to fill Whit's shoes. I would have liked if they could have gotten a chance at Penei Sewell when his finishes off at Oregon. Now there's absolutely no chance of that. Beyond that, what about all the other positions on the offense and defense that they are going to have to fill. Where are the Pro Bowl and Hall of Fame picked? By far and away they're mostly found in the first and second rounds. It's not as if Les sees talent better than his peers.

Perhaps not but he can see Jalen Ramsey, and can see he is much better than his peers and that's what Sneads job is about - having better talent than his competition.
At CB, a very important position of huge need to this team espescially now, Snead has landed the very best.
It's not like those other GMs aren't missing on 50% of mid 1st round picks, either. When they do land a player, how often is it a guy like Donald or Ramsey?
Press man coverage could unleash Fowler and make Donald even more important.
This move could pay immediate dividends.

Not sure, would love to someone who can play tackle, but hopefully they go with Edwards over Demby as I don't think Corbett would be ready.

I am not going to miss peters fear of tackling. I am hoping new lb and ol is an up grade. I am wondering how soon these players can be pluged in. I am sure ramsey can be put in this week because he can just take a wr one on one. I am scared of what ramsey will cost on new contract. I am not as depressed as I was last sunday after game. I am going to take the se out of ramy 's last name. I am not as excited about our next 2 drafts.

Even though I like and respect them as players, I have to admit I would not be upset if Cooks and Gurley were moved. However, that may be next to impossible given their current contracts.
I think they can be moved and I also suspect that it's inevitable at some point.

Who cares where he was drafted 2 years ago. Look at it this way: If he was worth so much because of where he was drafted 2 years ago, why was someone willing to sell him for so little? You're using the same logic I see people use when it comes to stock trading, convinced some stock is just going to keep going up and up forever and ever. If that was true, why would someone be willing to sell it to you?

And yes, Ramsey is a steal...if you're the Jaguars. Very few positions on the field are worth giving up 2 1sts and a 4th, and CB isn't one of them.

What are you talking about?

My post was in response to someone else Rams1fan who said Snead should be doubted cause of his misses with Tavon and Robinson - re-read the post I was responding to then mine again and hopefully you get my point.

Which was it’s silly to judge a GM based on missed draft picks

I voted WTF is going on.

Remember how 2016-17 offseason looked like it was all planned out but, wasn't exactly a planned execution.

The center of the moves revolves around Ramsey. Lose Peters to get Ramsey and adding a couple of other players. I like getting the OC/OG from Cleveland. The LB could be a solid player and has to be better than Reeder. Peters being gone in itself could be a positive. Getting Ramsey is where the risk comes in along with more question marks.

Ramsey didn't save the Jags defense last year which was supposed to be the best or close to it in the NFL. Shut down CBs can't do it alone or even with Aaron Donald . I'm not sure this is where I want to spend assets and money that the Rams don't have to waste. I see a lot of holes now along with potential holes over the near future while the Rams will have limited cap space remaining to address some of them. A top-heavy payroll got a lot more top-heavy. I imagine the Rams and Ramsey have a deal already agreed upon or are very close.

I'm not sure how far ahead the Rams have thought this through.

I have seen a few mention this, but how in the hell do you trade 2 1st rounders and a 4th for a player with one year on his contract?

I simply do not understand this at all!

I voted wtf because I think I like it more long term than short (assuming we can sign Jalen for a 4+ year extension without destroying our cap number).

For this year, I'm keeping expectations realistic. The niners or Seahawks could run into a spate of injuries too while we peak at the right time for a playoff run but it's probably more likely that we traded a top 15 pick.

I've endured too many bad seasons to be put off if we miss the playoffs this year. I just want to be in a solid position to reload next season for a SB run.

Not this year or next. Untenable. Moreover, if we get our interior OL working, those are the two players other than Goff who will benefit most.
