Hey Greg why don't you make a move to pick up Barron for a first, deal? No you say?

Ok how about a 2nd and a fourth!

I would pick up that LB from Bama or Watt to plug in that hole, cheaper contract, money saved, and an extra pick we could desperately need.

The Rams defense seemed to lack discipline more last year. They also lost Robert Quinn which seemed to make them average. Hard to rate Williams from here but, it looked like teams figured him out.

Hard to really determine when Fisher's country club atmosphere appeared to rub off on all of the players.

So Cleveland's defense is just like the Rams offense. Let's see who has the best coordinator....

Les, how about we just judge him for the job he did as defensive coordinator of the Los Angeles Rams? And quite frankly, he was the best assistant coach on Fisher's staff. Not disagreeing with you about his past, but IMO, he did a fine job with the Rams.

Den I think it's reasonable to do both. Actually it's really sensible to do both, both are part of his resume.

Bountygate was his, and yes he did do a good job coaching and calling the Rams defense. Especially when you consider how little help he got from the other side of the ball sometimes.

G williams is one of the top D coordinators in the league. Sad to see him go but we couldn't of asked for a better replacement

I understand that having no offense hurt Williams' defense, but beyond that I didn't like how inconsistent it could be...I sometimes wondered if always wanting to be the smartest guy in the room might have caused some of it...He definitely did some good stuff though, that's for sure...I'm really, really looking forward to seeing what Phillips can do with these guys...

Remember children...if you kill the head, the body follows.

This is why I'm not a Pop Warner football coach.

GW's good defenses had zero support here from the offense. I mean NONE.
Wade is a legendary DC...but the way i see it, especially if this offense even becomes mediocre, he's got some heavy shoes to fill.

I liked GW as a coordinator.

That said this article is a carbon copy any time a new coach is hired anywhere. New vibe, different attitude, different focus....so on a so forth.

.

never forget, william's d allowed alex smith to lead two 80 yard td drives for the whiners in a playoff game against the saints in the last 2 minutes of the game. after the saints just scored what they thought was the winning td both times.

wasn't thrilled when the rams hired him. he was good in low scoring games but when the games opened up his d was useless.

And then they had Spagnoulo........who set records for defensive performance in the worst way possible.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Tons of respect for the dude. He's a shark. Don't care about the bounty gate shit. Offenses have it too easy nowadays anyways.

Always liked Gregg W. as a DC, all the way back to his Redskins days. The only guy I'd want to replace him would be Wade Phillips.
