The thing that made it so remarkable was how important, and how LONG these 2 kicks were.

The first one was obvious, given they lose right then, if he missed.

The 57 yarder, wow. Such a long kick, and if missed the Saints are at midfield and a first down away from their game winning attempt.

Crazy cold ice in GZ’s veins...

Longest game winner in postseason history.

How many could make that kick? Only one.
Zuerlein is an absolutely great kicker and a huge advantage for the Rams. It was a just a matter of time before he made the crucial kicks and a record setting game winner in a championship game.

Absolutely huge weapon for the Rams, which we already knew, but in addition to his insane kicking abilities (those kicks would have been good from 65ish I think!) are his mental heroics. Pressure just doesn't seem to phase this guy. I'm glad he is on our side. The Super Bowl being in a dome definitely helps the Rams IMO, because with GZ and clear kicking conditions, we are a threat to score points from almost anywhere on the field. Plus the Patriots would be a lot more used to dealing with the elements than us.

I remember when people wanted to let Greg go after Fisher did his best to shatter Greg's confidence during 2015. Glad we kept him. Greg is a top 3 Kicker in the NFL, and he won us the game tonight.

And will never have to buy a beer again, if Rams fans are around.

To be fair, Greg went through a stretch of time early in his career (The Fisher regime) where he was getting too inconsistent with his FG kicks. To his credit, he reviewed his own performance, noted where he was having mechanical difficulties, and worked very hard to correct them. The super kicker with the turbo leg we have the last few years is the result of his dedication to excellence.

Part of that was Fisher regularly trotting him out for ridiculously long FGs. That's not a way to build a young kicker's confidence.

Yeah I remember defending him, I believe it was 4 seasons ago, seemed like what somehow was lost amongst certain stat hounds that I’ll leave nameless was the outrageous distance of his misses thru that bogus “stretch” I would suggest to the “to be fair” crowd they do some real research ( he had a total of 3 misses under 50 yards) Ah yeah , these same guys were banging the table for Roberto Aquayo ( sp)

He wasn't the problem that year, the FG protection was though. His numbers looked shaky, but they were still stellar if you discounted the blocked FGs from that year. He was money from inside of 50 (except for what I believe were 3 blocked FGs), and his numbers looked terrible from 50+ because Fisher wasn't afraid to send him out there with a hope and a prayer at the end of halves to see if he could boot a 70 yarder.

Yep. I remember those days. I kept trying to warn people that Aguayo was massively overrated.

I said it after last season, the loss of Greg the Leg was the difference in playoffs for the Rams He proved last night that he is worth his weight in gold to this team.

Just always felt Legatron would be the difference in a close playoff game. A not so secret weapon for the Rams. Felt last year the Rams couldn't run the playoff table without him.

Nobody is even mentioning that he kicked four field goals altogether, with the third tying the game with 5 minutes left in the 4th quarter. Talk about showing up big when it counts!!!
