Same O-line coach that year, yet this group is worse.

I find myself almost praying that those guys come back.
Bou seemed like he could get castoffs to play slightly better than they did for most of their careers, but when given young talented players he sucks. Maybe they picked the wrong players for him? I don't know, but it's failed.

The run play where Bennett is blocked by the TE solo and Gurley got body slammed pretty much sums up Boras. To draw up a play with Bennett being blocked by a TE at the point, non-crackback, is madness. Complete and total fail man. I just gotta hope that they executed it wrong. Because damn. Just damn.
Not even a TE that can block....a rookie who has struggled mightily trying to block.

At one point in 2012 the Rams were starting Wayne Hunter, Quinn Ojinnaka, Robert Turner, and Barry Richardson. That line played better than the current one with a bunch of premium draft picks.

Some of these players who have been in this so called "system" for 3-4 years have so many uncorrected faults from bad coaching they might not be salvageable. It's going to be much more than a decent draft and a couple FA's.

Yep. But even if he drew it up for Kendricks he'd get the same result. Kendricks has sucked all year in blocking, dude still plays like a rookie for like half his snaps. So bad man. Just so bad.

That's what scares me.

I knew this was coming.
Wildly wrong but ok.
Higbee can't block (although there has been inmorovement and he tries) the others can't get on the field.
Kendricks can block. Is any TE going to consistently beat a DE like Bennett one on one, naw.
Is Kendricks the best TE on the roster by a country mile?
Yes.
Obviously so.

Not much to say, pretty much everyone on O looked terrible. The D played really hard, but the secondary is still a mess in coverage IMO. If the QB has time to throw, it's a complete pass. I like Tru a lot, but man where the hell did he go. Maybe he is hurting more than he's letting on? Either way I'm leary of paying him and seeing him just disappear. I'd dump Saffold and let Britt and Quick walk for Eric Berry on the back end.

If you were supporting Fisher in his last few games, you were objectively wrong. Just want to get that out of the way.

RANT INCOMING

This team has spun its freaking wheels for a decade now. This offense seems no better than it was during the Spags era. In many ways, it's worse. These past 2 seasons have been the worst offensive football in modern NFL history and that might not be hyperbole.

Where has this O-line gone since the days of Goldberg, Bell, and Brown? Scott Wells? Have we improved over these guys by any great measure? Even Havenstein, who is the only starter I have hope for, has regressed significantly since last season. We need an entire new offensive line and at least 2-3 pass catchers. Basically, we need 7 to 8 new offensive starters.

Gurley was right to call this a middle school offense. This team is freaking pathetic. They don't even understand basic offensive concepts. They will need an introductory class in the freaking concepts of offense, and they will need to be beaten over the head repeatedly to understand it.

Fisher would have rather been the "cool step-dad" than be an actual freaking coach. A bunch of immature underdeveloped players who look completely lost the majority of the time they are on the field. This offensive coaching staff doesn't have a freaking clue and neither do the players. I would love for them to somehow see the meeting room of the Saints, Pats, Packers, Cowboys, or any competent offensive team. Their freaking brains would melt.

How many blown blocks, crap routes, bad drops, and other miscues can we see? Colinsworth said something along the lines of "It's astounding the number of drops they have had these last 3 weeks". Pal, try the last 3 years. THAT'S astounding.

This defense played hard at times and tried to keep it close, but even they are not without sin.

Donald, you are too good of a player to be throwing a ref's flag, or your helmet, or doing any other dumb crap like that. The shoulder tackling needs to stop from some of these guys. The stupid penalties need to stop. The blown coverage need to stop.

3rd and long is the easiest down to defend for most teams, for the Rams it is the single hardest concept in the world. Can't get off the field if they had a police escort to the freaking sideline.

We couldn't even beat a crappy 49er team and send them on the path to 0-16. Can't freaking do anything right this season. I'm not sure we win another game this season, and that includes one at home against these same 1 win 49ers. I don't know if beating them or losing to them would pee pee me off more. If we lose, we got swept by a two win team, if we win, it's not impressive and only begs the question of how they shut us out 28-0 to begin with in week 1.

This team is not as talented as we wish it was.

I am starting to actively hate the sport of football watching this team.

I'm going to go buy bleach and ammonia in bulk now.

I'm beginning to believe that maybe this mess isn't all Fisher's fault, as far as coaching goes anyways... I was thinking about it while stuck in traffic that maybe the problem is the players are just not smart enough, don't have the mental acuity, to be coached at this level. Physical talent isn't enough at the pro level. These guys make the same stupid mistakes over and over and over again ad nauseum. You've got to believe these things have been pointed out to them, right? Yet, they continue to make the same mistakes. That's not necessarily a coaching issue but an issue with being able to be coached.

Bottom line, we have a dumb football team. Don't get me wrong, I believe the entire offensive side of the coaching staff needs to be revised completely. Scorched earth completely. There isn't a single offensive coach that should be back next season.

If we had just a :poop:ty offense we'd probably be at least a 500 football team. The defense is decent until they tire out and/or snap mentally.

They should nuke the offensive side save for Goff, Gurley, and maybe Benny. I see no reason to keep anybody else. Britt maybe... They're really freaking bad!

I hope Les was at Staples tonight using his Rams MasterCard to buy boxes and shipping tape...

Except in Madden, you get to control the players.

I had to miss the second half for a Holiday Party. I was hoping to see some change in mentality and competitiveness I didn't expect any philosophical change because that would be silly,
One of my main concerns is the lack of progress in many plyers from their rookie to sophomore seasons over the past 4 or 5 years. It is as though some are more prepared to play straight out of college than after a year on the roster. See any RB other than Benny and most O.L, Rob and Jamon have been disappointing. The decline or lack of progress is especially noticeable on the Offensive side of the ball. I sure hope Goff has a tough psyche and a short memory. Not a lot to be excited about unless we attack free agency and change the face of our team. I have nothing against les nor do I have great support for him but I think we need change up to that level. New Coach new G.M and the rest can stay for now. Experience and success at the GM level with a coach that can work within the framework of the GM. I would say it is a tough time in Ramland but I already said Ramland.
Goodnight guys we are certainly a loyal and devoted fan base because we would have to be.

I'm like many of you. Nothing left to say.
Tonight's performance was about what I expected give or take.

The team is spent, I just hope no one gets seriously hurt the rest of the year and Goff gets some good experience for next year and beyond.

Just a DUMB team all the way around. I expect Troy Hill to hit the bottle again after getting his ankles broken on that TD play. Pathetic. JJ > Trumaine by a mile. GRob needs to be benched then shitcanned, no business seeing the field ever again. Thomas muffed the opening kickoff last week and dropped another today. SMH. Gurley had some decent runs, and then looked awful at other times. I really hope its just scheme and a bad O-Line.

This is the NFL, No For Long league. Except, under Fisher, guys have a much longer leash and shelf life than they probably should. That shit needs to stop... sure, its endearing and kinda cool that the players loved Fisher so much. But, they don't need a friend... they need a goddamn coach. Hopefully we find one... soon.

Hill looked like he hit the bottle pregame. He was brutal!

I agree that there's no accountability. At least not from an on-field performance aspect. Break a team rule or get popped for a DUI then you'll face some consequences.

I kind of believe that if you have no fear of losing your job then you'll have no respect for your job or your performance in doing your job. If you have nothing to fight for, why fight? That's a concept that might not be coachable. It might be a you have it or you don't kind of thing.

If I were Fassel I'd let the players just draw up the plays in the dirt as they went along. What's the worst that can happen? We can't score a TD during the whole God damn game?

Some teams operate the West Coast offense, while others prefer a form of Air Coryell.

The Rams appear to be running a simplified version of the Stone Age. I've only seen a handful of games this year but cannot even remember the last time the Rams sent anyone into motion prior to the snap.

Perhaps the woefully inadequate OL prevents anything more complex.

I don't think there is one person id keep from this offensive line... the past few games they have been epically horrible.

You know this was expected....Fassel was fed to the wolves but kept his team in composure for the most part... But this is my vent...

First, a competent HC. Next a competent OC. Next, an OL coach that hasn't lost his touch. That will at least help us separate the wheat from the chaff.

These guys could take an OL with Orlando Pace, Tom Mack, Irv Panky, Rich Saul, and Dennis Harrah and make it look terrible.

And I'm convinced you could give Boras the same level of talent that Martz had with the GSOT, and he wouldn't be able to even get them to be in the top 25 offenses in the NFL.

Now you're seeing what I was talking about during the offseason. (I hated being the bearer of bad tidings, but I knew what was coming.)

The scheme is broken. Incoherent.

Talent with this level of incoherent scheme is almost irrelevant.

I think we'll see that with the new regime if we pick the right guy.
