Patience.

I like splashes as much as the next guy, but I trust the Rams to execute their plan. Besides, a splash could be moments away.

Or, we fill holes economically.

I hope so, man. I'm tweaken' over here...

The "broken" Giants offense got a quick fix on the first day of free agency.
Within the first 90 minutes of the open market, the Giants improved their offensive line and strengthened their running game when they agreed to terms with free agent guard Geoff Schwartz and free agent running back Rashad Jennings, according to several NFL sources. Those will be two big steps towards fixing the Giants' greatest weaknesses when they sign their deals sometime on Wednesday.

The Giants also helped out their defense a bit by signing former Seahawks linebacker O'Brien Schofield to a two-year, $8 million contract, according to a source. He figures to take over for veteran Keith Rivers as one of the linebackers on the outside.

It was the offense, though, that seemed to command most of the Giants' attention in the days leading up to free agency. The team had made it clear that fixing the offensive line was their No. 1 priority, and they proved it by nabbing Schwartz, a 6-6, 340-pound former Chief who was one of the top interior linemen on the market. He chose the Giants over the St. Louis Rams.

Eric Wright sticks with the 49ers

Eric Wright will spend another season in San Francisco.

Wright, a cornerback who signed a one-year deal with the 49ers last year, revealed on Instagram that he is signing another contract with the 49ers this year.

When Wright is 100 percent physically and mentally, he has shown flashes of being a very good player. Unfortunately, Wright hasn’t always been 100 percent physically and mentally. Wright has had run-ins with the law, and he lasted just 10 games in Tampa Bay after signing a five-year, $37.5 million contract with the Bucs in 2012.

When the 49ers signed Wright in 2013 they initially put him on the non-football injury list, saying he was “tending to a personal matter.” But Wright was able to get on the field for the 49ers late in the regular season and in the playoffs, and they like his potential. He’s still just 28 years old and should have some good football ahead of him. That football will be played in San Francisco.

Report: Saints will trade Sproles
Posted by Mike Florio on March 11, 2014

After it was reported elsewhere that the Saints would cut running back Darren Sproles, we added a caveat: The Saints would first try to trade him.

And now they apparently will trade him.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Saintswill trade Sproles, thanks to a high demand for his services.

Sproles joined the Saints in 2011, after six seasons with the Chargers. He turns 31 in June, and the Saints apparently believe his best days are behind him. Fortunately for New Orleans, other teams disagree.

Thus, of all the veterans destined to be cut whose teams are trying to trade them, Sproles is the one, and perhaps only, that actually will be traded.

I'd say that's a win for the Rams.

Maybe but we have all seen good teams take a bad QB as a backup, and then their QB goes down and the backup looks food for a few games on a good team and then they are traded for a second round pick. Hope that isn't what happens with Gabbert.
