Three and out....Hekker!!!!

Fassel makes sense as Demoff stated the Offensive and Defensive Coordinators can focus on their jobs. Special Teams is by far the most squared away unit. Fassel can get them pumped up for Thurs Night against the Hags. We will probably get 100 shots of him on the sidelines. Everyone of the Rams players and coaches will be on their toes to help him out. I bet he stays on too like the Eagles did with their ST coordinator this year.

"..........................................For now, Fassel is calling the shots. Here are three things to know about the Rams' new interim coach:

His dad coached the Giants
If Fassel's name sounds familar, it's because his father, Jim, coached the Giants from 1997-2003 -- including a Super Bowl appearance after the 2000 season -- and later served as the Ravens' offensive coordinator from 2004-06.

John, meanwhile, began his NFL coaching career in '05 as an assistant special teams coach, joining his father in Baltimore. By 2008, he was on the Raiders' staff where he remained until 2011. In 2012 -- the same year Fisher was hired -- Fassel moved to the Rams where he's now in his fifth season as the Rams' special teams coordinator.

He's a heck of a special teams coach
Unlike Fisher's overall reign, Fassel has been particularly successful in his position. The Rams made this clear in a statement released Monday:

The Rams have set several NFL and franchise records since Fassel became the team's special teams coordinator five seasons ago. His punt team -- led by two-time Pro Bowl punter Johnny Hekker -- is first in the NFL in net average, net yards and opponent return average since 2012.

Under Fassel's tutelage Hekker became the first punter in the NFL to record a punt of 75 yards or more in back-to-back weeks since 1984, including a career-best 78-yard punt in Week 10. Through 13 contests in 2016, the Rams' punt unit leads the NFL in punts downed inside the 20-yard line (46), matching the NFL record for most punts inside the 20 in a single season. Of Hekker's 79 punts, only one was a touchback.

Additionally, his punt return team has scored four touchdowns during his tenure as special teams coordinator, which is tied for the third-most in the NFL during that span. On the coverage side, Los Angeles is first in the NFL this season in opponents' punt return average, allowing only 3.7 yards per punt return.
He briefly played for the Colts
Before Fassel became a coach, he played wide receiver at Weber State. He was an undrafted rookie free agent who spent the 1999 preseason with the Colts. Later that fall he joined the Bucknell coaching staff as a graduate assistant. Seventeen years later, he is an NFL head coach, at least for the next three weeks.".....................................
