A couple things to take away from this interview.
1. ED thinks the Rams should let go of Snead.
2. ED says he has the eye for talent; would be the Rams GM if called upon.
3. ED was responsible for the Marshall Faulk trade in 1999!

No, I wouldn't want ED being our GM. More goes into it than being an outspoken former player.

ED comes from waaaay before my time as both a Rams fan and a living, breathing human being.

I don't know anything about him in all honesty except for the impression he's given me these last few weeks.

This won't be popular but that impression isn't a very good one.

ED could be our Ozzie Newsome. I wouldn't make him GM, I'd make him head of the scouting department though. Find me a front office with his passion for the game and winning and I think you could really build something lasting. You gotta be obsessed with this stuff to compete at the highest level.

As far as his personality goes, I can't say that I blame you.

Helluva RB. Not necessarily the easiest person to take though.

ED needs to understand that a solid GM isn't airing dirty laundry publicly and that speaking out against the organization is bad form
That said, best pure RB I ever saw!

I liked him better before he started spouting off.
Wish he was a mute.

I like ED and he comes from a no BS and realist stand point of how things are. He might need some experience but putting him in charge of player personnel or a like job title and responbites could gain him valuable experience and provide great insight for the upcoming GM.

Probably could got Faulk cheaper.
Most enjoyable Rams to watch. Does he really want to work as hard as other GMs do?

I'm growing weary of hearing him speak as well. Maybe the Rams can give him some made up, bullshit title and a salary so he can feel important again and maybe it'll curtail his need to bash the organization publicly every time someone gives him air time.

I still like him.I think he was being honest in his assessment of the program.
Was he generating buzz for himself? I'm sure.
What bothered you most about it?The speaking out against Fisher?
or Do you feel it was done for personal gain only.Just curious of
you're perspective.
I saw your kardashian Remark.I think you're off the mark.
You can not be a kardashian if you possess even an ounce of talent
at anything.That's kardashianism 101. LOL

I love what he did on the field for the 65 games he was a RAM.
Off the field? Not exactly my favorite Ram.

The Rams didn't need him flapping his gums during all of this. ED didn't do the franchise any favors with his recent publicity campaign. He is still putting himself above the franchise that he all of a sudden gives a shit about now that they are in LA... right or wrong, I don't like it.

Again, one of the best NFL players of all time. Obviously one of the best to ever wear horns. But he is not really my franchise hero of mine and his new found interest in the Rams and airing his dirty laundry in the media at every opportunity had me wishing we could trade him to the Colts again.

BTW - Superman wore 28 on his chest... ;)

edit- just to be perfectly clear- I might not have become a Rams fan if it weren't for Eric Dickerson. I don't hate the guy... far from it. I used to go around everywhere in a generic blue t-shirt with a 29 on the back when I was a kid... I thought I could run faster when I wore it.

I was born in '80, so no, I don't really have strong first hand memories of watching him live but my cousin was a Rams fan and he talked about ED like he was a super hero. I am from Missouri but I've been a Rams fan since I could watch football, thanks to my cousin, Mikey. He was my role model and I looked up to him like a big brother. He lived with us a while and we were very close, despite our difference in age. When I was 10 years old Mikey died in a car accident. He was 18.
After that, I went from a kid who likes the Rams to a bona-fide RAMS FAN. I would tell anyone who wanted to talk football that Dickerson was the best NFL Runner ever. And he might be. He is definitely one of them.
It's just... the more I've learned about him the more I've come to realize that he has never really been a team first guy and I wish he wouldn't act like he deserves to be treated like the Royal Ambassador of The Rams.
(If that honor belongs to anybody, it's Isaac Bruce, right?
He belongs to both LA and STL.
He took an underthrown ball 73 yards to the house to give us our only NFL Championship Title.)

ED never going to shut up now he thinks he is the end all to every Rams problem. He will complain about everything until he gets an offer on a position

I don't view it through the prism of a Fisher defender. I view it through the prism of a fan who doesn't like anyone talking shit about the Organization or anyone in it. I'd be equally as turned off if he was attacking Gurley or John Fassel. I don't care if he was being "honest" in his assessment of the program. There are diplomatic and mature ways to handle situations, and then there's the way he did it. To that end, I didn't appoint that asshat my ambassador to the Rams; nor did I empower him with my voice. So I don't need him to assume the mantle. I realize people view him as some sort of icon or football god due to his on-field production for the Rams, and I used to share that view to an extent, but now I'd simply walk past him if I ran into him on the streets. That's MY team he's talking about. He can take his Colt uniform wearin' ass and rail against someone else. I don't wanna hear it.

ED is not EVEN close to being GM material. Ever since he got his radio show on 570, he's taken a "know it all" attitude.

If he's interviewing for a head coach job, no.

Fuck no in any capacity.

I don't know anything about him in all honesty except for the impression he's given me these last few weeks.

And it's a shitty impression to be sure. But he was arguably the best pure runner the NFL has ever seen.

I'm growing weary of hearing him speak as well. Maybe the Rams can give him some made up, bullcrap title and a salary so he can feel important again and maybe it'll curtail his need to bash the organization publicly every time someone gives him air time.

I hope they give him the finger, and his sideline passes and tell him to shut the fuck up.

He's running his big mouth and see below for the reason.

Yeah and fuck him for it. He became the enemy IMO. He may as well have become a 9ers fan. Sports talk radio is at the same level for me.
