I'm sure this news has been posted on here somewhere already, but it's such good news I thought it was deserving of its own thread.

Looked to me like Darious had an "eversion" ankle sprain, which is indicative of the potentially more-serious "high" ankle sprain. (The "inversion" ankle sprain is much more common and typically less serious). Regardless-- Darious' sprain is "mild." As of now it sounds like he might even be available for the Giants game.

The way Darious was limping, I was concerned that we might have a few weeks having to rely on Rochell and Long as CB 2 and 3.

We're thin at CB, so it's great news that DWill's injury isn't serious.

Maybe he'll be ready for the G-men given the mini-bye.

I wonder if because we haven't heard anything about L Floyd he's ok and wasn't hurt at the end of the game

I heard on the brand new Jourdan Rodrigue podcast, that McVay said that Floyd was totally fine.

Some analysts point out that the Rams are (relatively speaking) lacking in depth, and I think that is a valid criticism.

There are only a few positions on the team where our depth seems pretty strong. For example, losing Hollins wasn't too horrible because Lewis and Obo can pick up the slack without a major drop-off. And Noteboom is a solid swing tackle.

But most other positions... man. CB is for sure one of them. Drop off from Ramsey/DWill to Rochell/Long is pretty steep. And after that, we got... uh... Kareem Orr (who?), Tyler Hall, (huh?), and Dont'e Deayon(um, ok).

If this team is gonna win it all, they definitely gotta keep up the good luck on staying healthy.

Mods please edit and update the thread title to reflect the more recent and accurate news?

Sorry to bump this frickin' thread but I haven't yet seen it elsewhere

DWill to IR to miss a minimum of 3 weeks

Must have been a "high" ankle sprain as I feared

EDIT: Rams haven't declared it a high ankle sprain (yet), but this is what it looked like to me based on how his ankle rolled outward. Like all sprains, there's a wide degree of severity, so here's hoping he's only out 3 weeks.

You profess concern over the accuracy of this story, then proceed to speculate that DWill has a HIGH ankle sprain which, to my knowledge, has not been stated by the Rams.

I never "professed concern over the accuracy" of any stories. My initial post was posted on Friday, and based on the info given then. I then bumped the thread today (four days later than the original post) after the Rams revised their prognosis.

And the term "high ankle sprain" simply refers to an injury to the medial ligaments on the inside of the ankle. Upon reviewing the replay of DWill's injury, it is quite clear that his ankle was forcibly rolled outward--therefore injuring the ligaments on the inside of his ankle. And yes, I never stated that the Rams declared it a high ankle sprain-- that's my conclusion based on the video. But it's pretty damn obvious which direction his ankle rolled. But the degree of sprain varies widely of course.

BTW, the Rams have become extremely tight-lipped on giving out info on injuries. (Reference the Gurley saga). So I don't know whether or not the Rams will label it "high" or not. But his ankle rolled outward not inward, so therefore IMHO it falls into the category of sprain commonly referred to as "high."

Here's an article explaining the differentiation between low and high ankle sprains:

Hey mods, please feel free to add a "moderator edit" to the top of my original post on Friday, since people might get confused. The first few posts in this thread express relief at the supposedly good news, then we get this crappy update today. :dizzy::angry4:

And to think, this was caused on a play where the other team was down by more than two scores, with 16 seconds left. They could have taken a knee.

was that rapp's only tackle of the day? too bad he wasn't a second slower so he would have missed williams. unlucky that he was on time to take down williams.

I know the difference, thanks. Still haven’t seen any reliable source state that DWill has a high ankle sprain. Perhaps he does, perhaps not.

We know his ankle is injured and that he’s out for a minimum of 3 weeks. Anything else is a guess.
