First kick wasn't a good hold, hardly his fault. That last FG has already been discussed as difficult.

Luck still has a lot to prove though don't you think? He has potential for sure and he seems to be the real deal but it's still early and it bothers me when people say he is a top tier QB or he gets called elite. If he had played the Rams schedule these first two years of his he wouldn't have 22 wins under his belt. In fact he's benefited from the weakest division I can remember in a long, long time.

Don't get me started!

A career 81.5 rating in the easiest division in football and he's regularly lumped in with the top 5 QB discussion. WTH?

The media is a massive pool of group-think sometimes.

Don't get me wrong, I think he's good. But yeah, he's got a lot to prove.

I rather him miss NOW in the PS and use this to help correct his issues. This is what PS is for. If he carries it over into the RS, then we can maybe start dusting off the ol panic button. Would I have liked him to make it? Yes. But it's not the end of the world. Considering the circumstances, I ain't mad at him. Use it as a learning experience and move on.

Imagine if they had to deal with another Painter for more than one season.

God they'd probably kill themselves.

Imagine Pats fans too, they know days are dark, why they're always trying to convince themselves every back up is the replacement they need. First Cassel, then Mallett.

As much as I hate to admit it; replacing Brady won't be easy. But knowing those fuckers they'll probably luck into another QB.

Not overly concerned in his kicks with a backup long snapper in and it being preseason with an odd circumstance at the end of the game

Not sold on Zuerlein at this point. Solid but by no means clutch IMO. Not so bad he should be cut or replaced but I don't have any confidence he'll make a big time kick when the pressure's on.

23-31 IN 2012.
GREAT IN 2013.

I want to see him hit a game winner a few times, the guy is great, he has had some misses that have worried me.

THIS game would seem to fly directly in the face of that assessment. And again he was 26-28 last season! How are people worried?

Only thing I will comment on is that fact GZ ALWAYS hooks the ball to the left. I dont think I have ever seen him miss right.

Yup and that's something that can be fixed by altering his motion I'd suppose.

Greg in the 4th Q or overtime with the game within 7:
66 no good
58 no good
54
53
50 no good
48
46
38
27
25
24

Going off historical FG kicking percentages from 1999-present (at any point in any game) you'd expect to observe those results (or better) approximately 25% of the time, you'd expect to observe better results approximately 7% of the time. So going off that Greg is somewhere in the 3-8 range of kickers.

Anyone else noticing a trend?

In his career, Greg Zuerlein is 7/9 on "clutch" FGs. I defined a clutch FG as a FG occurring in the 4th Quarter or Overtime in a game where the scoring margin was within 3 points either way.(Rams down by 3 to the Rams up by 3)

Zuerlein's two misses in his career were from 66 yards against the Dolphins and 58 yards against the 49ers (in OT).

What kind of scrub misses a 66 yard FG? The unclutch kind that's who...

Man Geeezy has my confidence.. Dude can nail them from 60. I'll never forget his FG in chicago with all that wind.

Trying to remember the name of the AZ Cardinals kicker several years ago who burst onto the scene out of nowhere. He was tremendous his first couple years IIRC...then his confidence seemed to dip with each and every miss(no matter the circumstance) from that point on, until he became awful.

Neil Rackers.
All kickers are weird dudes anyway, but some of them are pretty fragile mentally. It's something i'm keeping my eye on.

Shane Graham missed an extra point also... wonder what the 'Aints fans are saying about that
