Jags annonced they released him after taking a WR in the draft.

He has decent numbers to play 3-4 WR compared to what we have.

He's had some injury concerns last year being the most recent but other years he has been pretty productive.

Bring him in to compete?

What say you?

We're pretty set with starters with Nakua, Kupp and Robinson. I think McVay wants to develop younger players for the rest.

Our 5th round pick Whittington may become a hell of a slot too with McVay coaching him up. Atwell and Skow provide good depth.

Agree but I think the issue is durability.

If you tell me Kupp and Nacua will play 17 games each, I think the Rams are more than OK at wide receiver. However, those ate two tough and physical guys. They catch in traffic and fight for every available yard ... AND ... they take a beating for it. Even Nacua was rested in a number of practices throughout the season to be able to play on Sunday.

Personally, I can not image the Rams getting 34 starts from Kupp and Nacua. Hope I am wrong.

Good News is that I am Frequently Wrong!

I'd be fine with him competing for a depth job. Doubt the Rams are where he ends up though.

No on Jones. I’d still look to bring in a guy at some point. A veteran guy. Either June cuts or trade deadline. I expected a draft pick there but no dice.

It sucks, but i’m just not feeling a full season from Kupp. If no Kupp then Nacua prob gets hurt and so on…

Sadly, because I love Kupp's play, this is a do or die year for him. If he is injured significantly and misses a bunch of games, I think he is done in LA due to his contract numbers. If he plays 15 or 16 games and produces, I think he will be back.

Absolutely not. I'd rather trust our current corps - even if Kupp is declining - than a headcase like Jones.

Agree.

Have been wondering if Hunter Renfrow would be a good fit. Mostly a slot guy, so that may be too limiting. However, he also seems like a reliable veteran that could pick-up the system quickly, develop a relationship and gain the trust of Stafford seamlessly and bide his time until needed (as Robinson did last year).

Damn didn't know he was a FA, I'd take him any day of the fucking week over our 3rd and 4th WR. He's like Kupp and can run the whole tree from the slot or a outside position.

Would be a solid option on 3rd downs especially with teams capable of double teaming Kupp and Pakua on important downs.

WTF with all of the "Kupp is declining" nonsense? Did he have a down year last year? Yes, by his standards, he did. Did his injury linger loner than any of us, Kupp included, would have liked? Of course it did.

However, given his work ethic, I think he has earned the benefit of doubt, from me at least, that he will be back this year as good as ever.

To me, it seems premature to be throwing dirt on his grave as some seem to be doing. :cheers2:

Kupp had worse statistics - around the board; receptions, yards, touchdowns - in thirteen games last year than he did in nine games in the year before. He could easily prove me wrong, but he's had injury issues, and will turn thirty-one in June with a lot of wear on him.

It's very much concerning, don't you think?

He would be a good replacement if Kupp ever went down.

I would think things will be quiet until after June 1st but then we'll see the Rams grab what they have found out might be an additional need. Once teams start making cuts after early camp functions, the Rams will pounce on our next gem.
