I launched YouTubeTV today to watch some college football. I finally have a slow Saturday and I was looking forward to watching the Texas vs Vanderbilt game to see if Arch is still improving.

Quickly discovered a very, very small slate of games available, and thought, what the fuckin' fuck???

Above article tells the story.

The situation sucks. YouTubeTV is expensive enough. I think I'm held hostage with it in order to keep watching Rams games. Maybe I can dial back the plan if more programming pulls out. Need to look up the minimum bundle in order to keep the Sunday Ticket. Honestly, I was so excited beginning of year when my Sunday Ticket auto renewed, I forgot to see what the heck I paid for it.

I digress.....moving on, we do also have Disney+. So I switched over to that app, and realize my current bundle has ESPN Select instead of ESPN Unlimited - - meaning, I don't get the live ESPN Channels. Need to pony up another $12 a month. (insert more profanity of your choice here....)

I'm not seeing a resolution coming on this for ESPN and ABC Channels to return to YoutubeTV.

How many subscriptions do you have to have these days to make sure you don't miss a live football game? FUCKITY FUCK FUCK.
Go Rams.

This is partially a result of forcing the break up of monopolies
The big players have manipulated the system “surprise” and we now get served to death to acquire the programming that serves our needs.

It sucks, not a fan of Disney or it’s giant umbrella of specialized media services

Oh well, I guess I'll miss our MNF games if they don't resolve it. I'm not giving that fucking mouse a penny of my $.

Hmmm… Someone Talked Effusively About… Memory Serves… some kind of thing you can do on the internet. What was that…??? It was like the… I think had something to do with TV. And it was an app. Just don’t .com it. You have to .to it.

Me too.
I ended up cancelling our Disney Bundle.
At first I didn't mind ESPN and ABC channels missing from the YouTubeTV. I knew I had the ESPN app with my Disney/Marvel/Hulu/ESPN bundle. But when I found out that they changed the ESPN to ESPN select and removed the live channels right before this stand off... I got pissed. Instead of an extra $10 a month from me, they're now losing $30.
Next year, I'm voiding the YouTube Base Plan and buying the Sunday Ticket solo (don't care if it is $100 bucks more). I'm paying $89 a month plus extra $10 a month for 4k resolution for that base plan, and I only use it primarily for Sunday Ticket. If I cancel that base plan now, you lose the Sunday ticket and don't get a refund.

The funny thing is, I haven't stayed up late enough to even watch a Monday Night Game this year. But I liked having the choice!

I have been a YTTV subscriber almost since they started. Its been incredible, and I love being able to have it on five TVs in my house, especially getting sunday ticket and multi view. Its amazing.

Fuck Disney for this. They are holding this hostage during football season, and using it to get people to switch to Hulu or Fubo which they both own. They had the spineless SEC, Big 12 and ACC tweet out the same fucking thing trying to get people to switch. Fuck them

On 3/8/2021, Disney stock closed at $203.02.

From there, it has fallen dramatically to a low of $88.27 on 2023.

Since then, it has meandered between $122.36 and $111.35 today (it hit another low on 3/31/2025 @ $83.53).

Clearly, the company has been on a bad streak for years now. They “re-hired” Bob Iger, but he has been unable to recreate the Disney “magic” he had during his first term and is likely headed toward the exits.

The company is in need of more revenue. The prices at the parks have skyrocketed.

Now, they aim at adding revenue through their media channels.

A quick history of recent events:

They battled it out with Charter Communications in 2023.

They had a dispute with DirecTV in 2024

And now, in 2025 – it is YouTubeTV

See a trend here? See a cause?

Link doesn’t work just sends me to YouTube regular not you tube tv. How do I get the credit? What screen do I need to go to?
I clicked the link and it took me right to my account. And said my next bill will be credited $20. Maybe sign in to youtube TV first then click the link. It should be every month we can't access ESPN or ABC. But greed is paramount for those people. I should ask them if I cancel my subscription would it affect the Ticket I'm paying for. I'm gonna be pissed if its not resolved by the time we play the Falcons. Sunday Ticket customers signed up with the expectation of watching every game. They should at least give those people access to the games.

If you are signed up and pay through a Google account, I believe it will take you straight there. I tried going to the YouTube TV account and following the directions of going to my account, settings, and then up updates per their instructions. Only problem was that my settings didn’t have an update option.

I then googled it and read through YouTube TV’s article about it. I found a link buried there. I clicked the link and it took me right to the accept credit page.

Note: I still haven’t received the email they promised where they will provide the link.

Thanks for the tip on the $20... didn't even know.
It worked for me. (y)
