I think the scenario is pretty spot-on. I don't know if Chop is the guy they'd pick.. but I do think they'd draft Thomas.I think they take Thomas at 19 if he happens to still be there. Outside of that, a small trade down and draft Chop Robinson.
I think Latu goes to the Falcons. This is not a thread for what you would do, but what you think the Rams will do with their 1st pick.
Trade up. Rams move from the 19th pick to 14th in a trade with the Saints.
The PICK. Latu
Instant production off the edge week 1.
Hopefully he learned from the Atwell pick not to 'force it.'I have said for month or two now that I think McVay wants a WR. I don't know that he forces one of the guy he wants is gone. One thing I've been thinking for a while now is that either this year or next depending on how long they think Stafford will stick around, or how long he tells them he intends to play, that they're going to trade down and try to add a future first or even a 2nd from a team that's really bad that could be a very high 2nd. They're going to try to add another one for ammo to trade up for a future QB.
And to force a trade down like so many insist we have to do before taking their player. And we miss out and have a new Bobby Wagner story.Hopefully he learned from the Atwell pick not to 'force it.'
I don't think Latu makes it to 19. And I'm irritated that all these mocks and boards in the media got me hoping. Of course that medical stuff hangs over him so there is no telling what teams think. But I'm pretty much writing him off for now and my plan if it happens involves streaking.
My guess for how this goes down would be that they decide not to move up and the OTs they want fly off the board in the teens. So I figure they'll take Darius Robinson. He boosts the defensive front at several spots and has that rangy size and strength that are hard to find. He can strong side for them at OLB, or 5T or go interior. Versatile piece for the defensive front and they can still roll the dice on edge in round 2 to round that room out.
Then Turner slots 3T which is his best spot IMO. The defense looks a ton better, and there should still be some good wideout options round 3. Maybe even another corner, as there are some I love who seem slated in that range (ahem Cam Hart).
I think 19 is a pretty good spot in this draft for the Rams so long as 4 QBs go in the top 18 picks (and it seems pretty likely that will be the case)I think the Rams see 19 as no man's land. They're gonna move up or move down. If they move up I think it's Odunze and if they move down I think it's Chop Robinson or AD Mitchell.
I like AD Mitchell’s talent. I heard someone say that he might have some character concerns last week.I think the Rams see 19 as no man's land. They're gonna move up or move down. If they move up I think it's Odunze and if they move down I think it's Chop Robinson or AD Mitchell.

I still think Verse is the pick - at 19
I would dig this draft. Love double dipping DL. Adds home run speed at WR and RB. Nice.
Yeah for me, corner is lower on the board due to the way they went about free agency. And I don't necessarily like the prospects of edge, tackle, or receiver at 19. Brian Thomas Jr is the only one that consistently gets to us at 19 in mock draft simulations that I like.I think 19 is a pretty good spot in this draft for the Rams so long as 4 QBs go in the top 18 picks (and it seems pretty likely that will be the case)
Now if they are intent on taking a certain position - it may be no man’s land but so long as they are comfortable with OT, CB, WR, DT, or Edge - and none of the “consensus top guys” are off their boards for some reason, then they are in good shape staying put.
Yeah he's got some major questions that need answering. When he was on his game he roasted elite corners. His Alabama game tape is beautiful. But he so very obviously checked out in moments where he wasn't getting the ball or on run plays. If he played consistently he'd be right there with Nabers imo. So it would depend on whether or not he checks out in interviews. But going into the combine I absolutely loved the way he attacked the ball and how he ran his routes. And then he went into the combine and ran a 4.3 so I'm fascinated.I like AD Mitchell’s talent. I heard someone say that he might have some character concerns last week.
In the new Stafford special, he said he's going for the gold jack, which means 2-3 more Super Bowl wins to him. The Rams know his intentions.I have said for month or two now that I think McVay wants a WR. I don't know that he forces one of the guy he wants is gone.
