I mentioned we only had a local band jamming down here for the long weekend... The Burnin Symrnans. I found an old vid of them playing at Disappearing Island. That's where we hung out most of the weekend cause the seas were too rough to head out to the Gulfstream and fish. The only thing different now compared to the video is that the chicks pretty much all wear thongs today... even the girls who are WAY TOO young and underage.

Boaters hang out on the Disappearing Islands in Ponce Inlet because you can drink and let your dog(s) run free. That is not allowed on the beaches in Volusia County. You can only get to them by boat though. The islands are just big sandbars that "disappear" when high tide rolls in.

Best thread ever! Wow! So many great songs and some by bands I've never checked out. I'm a metal and classic hard rock guy, but also was raised on Country and top 40 from the and 60s and 70's. Music is so amazing as it joins us all together and opens a door that quenches the soul. Thank you everyone.

Anyone who has ever lost a pet, check out, if you can, the last song of this show, by Donal Lease titled "Blue". It's one of the best live, emotional performances I've ever seen. We lost our four legged best friend "Little Bear" about 2.5 years ago and I still get emotional when I pass by his resting place in the back yard. Donal and an acoustic guitar made magic with this composition.
