1883 started so promising, then it became entirely focused on Elsa.
Freakin Elsa, thirstiest cowgirl on the Oregon Trail. First she banged that goofy cowboy, then it was the second cowboy that replaced the first cowboy, then she got in love with the Comanche warrior in because they had sex in a tornado! At least she remained loyal to him.
The Native American parts were actually pretty interesting. I wanted more interaction with the Lakota and I'm assuming the Sioux later.
Shea ended up being a background character. Too bad, he was so good. I wanted more flashbacks to his Civil War days.
Finally the last episode felt so forced and like Shea, the rest of the characters were just thrown the wayside for Elsa. Hopefully the 1932 series will be better.
