Exceptionally strong unit, even without Van Jefferson who I believe may be gone by the trade deadline so long as Cooper Kupp returns as his old self. Kupp, Nacua, Atwell, Skowronek & Robinson, with Tyler Johnson make for a solid winning position group.

By season's end the combo of Kupp, Puka and Tutu could very well be one of the top 3 groups in the league. Kupp will take quite a few of Puka's catches but the 2 of them will definitely open up the the entire field for Tutu to showcase his speed. This is a really nice situation starting to brew in La La land. Could we have 3, 1,000 yard WRs? Quite possible. Puka needs to average 49 yards a game, Tutu need to average 54, and Kupp needs 77 a game if he returns for week 5. Did I forget to mention Jefferson, NO I DIDN'T, he is less relevant now than when he was a rookie, hell he won't even make it to the end of the season on the Rams roster. This offense has the chance to be a monster if/when Kupp comes back fully healthy. I think Stafford will lead the league in passing yards this year once this team gets to full strength. I believe by season's end they have even less rushing attempt's than previous years but MORE yardage. Folks, I can't wait wait to see this offense hit the supercharger by the time they play the Steelers and Cowboys "D"s. It's gonna totally perplex the entire NFL and then everybody is gonna say they could see it coming. They'll be 7-2 at the bye, people will be shaking their heads, opposing teams will be shaking in their boots (cleats). Rams 34, Bengals 13.

Notice that play. It appears Stafford's throw was behind Puka. But if its not behind Puka and leading him the safety is right there to break it up or give Puka a big hit. Maybe Stafford did that intentionally to protect his receiver? He's one of the smartest quarterbacks in the league. That is very possible.

I am worried about Nacua staying healthy. Not sure he can do that at the current usage level. Also I think Kupp will be out a long time, so whether Nacua can hold that role down for that long remains to be seen.

So I like this wideout group but will things align for them idk.

This then relates to the run game and its health to support moving the chains. Which is where Akers removing himself could fuck us.

Basically if Williams misses time the run game might evaporate. And if Nacua misses time on top of that we are probably fucked as none of these guys can Kupp.

Not to be negative or anything here. Just very concerned about these two holding up. But oh well lets go get that dub vs Cincy and gonna hope the injury Gods favor us this season.

At least I hopefully think we should be able to get more Van than we got for Cam.

Yeah, kid needs to learn to protect his body more and know when to not go all out. But that's learnable so I'm overly concerned.

Rumors of Van's death are much exaggerated... just as Nacua cannot keep up this ridiculous target rate, Van will return to form (though his form isn't a star WR). The guy's had some hiccups but has produced at a more solid level than this for us and most likely will do again.

It's two games. I expect both to revert closer to the mean (though Nacua has shown enough that his mean will be relatively high!)

It may really depend on how great the needs are for the team trading for him. If a play-off caliber team loses one of their better WR's to injury, that should somewhat affect his value. Still, Van Jefferson needs to string together a few decent games to really boost his overall worth. If he continues his play in the 'shadows', then I'd be happy with a 6'th rounder, ... if he steps up his game some, then I might be looking for a 5'th.
jmo.

Van Jeff better resurrect fairly quickly then, because if Kupp returns soon and Nacua/Tutu remain healthy, he may find himself the odd man out.

I think that, at best, Jefferson has 2 more games to make a statement unless Kupp is then still unable to play. That’s it.

Once Kupp is back then VJ is relegated to 4th WR and never sees the field again barring injury to someone.

In 2024 VJ will be wearing another team’s uniform.

Oh, both things are probably true. With the way things are going, we'll probably see much more Tutu, Kupp and Nacua but with Kupp playing a lot of F and Nacua playing a lot of Z, there's only so many good snaps Tutu can provide as an X (he's better from the F and even Z) so I think there will be some shuffling with those three guys between those spots AND some pulling Jefferson back in for some X snaps at times.

I think McVay should intentionally scheme some other guys open however he needs to. Stafford is starting to stare him down.

Its great that Stafford has someone he can trust besides Kupp. He does target Tutu also. Just not as much. I imagine Kupp will return to being his number one. But its nice to have other options. In a perfect world Kupp runs intermediate and occasional deep routes. Puka runs the underneath stuff ala Wes Welker. And Tutu stretches the defense.

Stafford rarely stares anyone down, even Kupp. He is in fact usually playing eye games with the DBs.
