Yeah and I really like what they've done this offseason. They sort of sleepwalked their way through that 2020 offseason, assuming that Reynolds would step up. Now you have a guy who's gonna be more in tune with what McVay wants out of his wideouts, better hands, better blocker, and they also added size and hands with Harris.

All of a sudden it looks like they have a "bigs" group for redzone usage. Higs/Harris/Skow are a pretty nice group for that situation with 9 gunning no-look passes and highpointing them.

This will be McVay's first good redzone offense IMO. I expect they'll be extremely potent in that phase of the game.

Redzone has been McVay's Achilles heel, especially without a healthy Gurley. Put in the big package of Higs/Harris/Skow along with Michel in the backfield and it's going to cause a lot of problems for opposing defenses.
Exactly, great posts guys, and very true. I'd love us to draft another Gurley type of back one of these years we have a 1st rounder again:laugh4:

I would have no problem with a first round back. My only issue with the RB position now is don't effin pay them big money. That's all. Draft them every year and let them go in FA. After Gurley I am done with that BS lol.

True, unless you find a guy that holds up like an Adrian Peterson type, but so rare for a guy to give you 7-8 great yrs which is what a 2nd contract type guy would have to give you.

DL, OL, WR, CB, OLB, S are positions where that is more likely to happen.

Maybe a big play type guy like Kamara, where you don't pound him 20-25 times a gane, but is utilized in the passing game as well as 12-15 carries. A situation where you have a big back to take the between the tackles carries more often.

If Gurley was used along with Malcom Brown, if Brown could have carried the ball 10-12 times a game, Gurley may have lasted longer.

Yeah, Jourdan says team was high on him. Developmental prospect. Lots of ST use.

Also, it's important to note how remade our receiver room may look next year with Jackson on a one year contract and us prob moving on from Woods.

Then we'd be looking at Jefferson and Kupp with Tutu as the 3rd WR but now would have depth with Skow behind them and him adding a dimension to offense in 3wr sets that Tutu won't.
From the contract details I saw of Woods & Kupp's deals, you are not moving on from either until 23' at the earliest. Of course that's still only two yrs away.

He fractured his arm (?) in the first Raider preseason game. Not sure when it happened because I didn't see the injury happen.

From what I saw of him in TC, no way I'd expose him to another team.

IMO, very underrated at Notre Dame, every time they got Big Ben the football, he made a play. I also believe he will be an asset on special teams too, however, he did have some health issues too at Notre Dame if I recall correctly.

Why move on from woods. He would be in the 3rd year of his contract. We want more dead money. He's a baller. I don't see it yet.

Sorry meant the Chargers - forgot who they played in the first game

Anyway - this is the announcement on Ben after the game

"Rams rookie receiver Ben Skowronek fractured his forearm in Saturday night’s preseason game against the Chargers."

It was probably on the kickoff to the Chargers. Don't know for sure but never saw him in the game after that.

He played 4 snaps on offense, and 3 on STs before exiting with an injury.

As I said - I wasn't sure because I couldn't remember seeing him in the game

But thanks for clarifying

Never saw him down on the ground either.

I think I know what happened why I didn't see him. That was the game that I had issues seeing the game because NFL network didn't go to the game until 10:30 PM EST and I kept scrambling around for a streaming site that would show the game.

Think I missed the first 10 - 20 minutes of the game. Wonder if it happened before I got to see the game.

I didn't see him either. I don't think that he was targeted or mentioned before exiting.
