Worst Trade in Rams History

Look at his stats for 95.

Lowest yardage of his career except for his final year.
Then he goes to Pittsburgh and gets come back player of the year award.

I wasn't in the coaches meetings there or anything but that was the perception by several people around the league.

And to me personally, it didn't look like he was playing very hard compared to his two previous seasons where he won Rookie of the Year, etc.

yeah, the stats tell a story of that season for sure. The QB's combined for almost 700 drop backs, and there were many games he only got a handful of carries because they gave up so many points.
First 4 games of season, when the D only gave up 16 PPG, he was averaging 17 yards a carry (including game 1 where he got banged up and only carried 7 times)
Conversely, in his last 6 games he only avg 6 carry a game, while the D gave up 36 ypg and the qb's were dropping back 50+ times per
I watched every game that year in a sports bar, and while he looked salty because they got crushed a lot, I dont recall him ever dogging it. The way I saw it, Brooks just wanted to throw it all over the joint and Bettis wasnt his kind of back

I still remember the tears (9 years old) after the 1975 NFC Championship Game loss to the Cowboys 37-7 when the Rams finally had Home Field Advantage. Slept like a baby that night though....Woke up every two hours and cried!

That was a huge disappointment but the Rams were totally out-played in that game.

Is Stafford conversely the best trade ever? I guess the trade for Marshall Faulk could be up there? I'm from Hawaii and I swear that Faulk was a man among boys when SDSU played against the University of Hawaii back in the day.

This will be a good debate one of these days. The Faulk trade - getting a generational talent for a 2nd and a 5th - was absolute highway robbery by the Rams. That one put an end to the bad effects of the Dickerson trade, and decisively so.

Dickerson trade, end of story. They got the best RB in the NFL and we got a box of rocks.
That trade, my hatred of it was the reason John Shaw came on my radar. POS who traded or best player and moved us to St. Louis.
We got gems like Frank Stams. Just imagine what Evrett would have done with that great O line, fine defense, handing the ball off to ED and throwing the ball to Flipper and Ellard.
The "Phantom Sack" would never have happened and the Niners would have a few less rings.

I hate any good Rams' player in a 49er uniform. Reynolds and Bruce were the worst for me.

However, I had no memory of the Tyler-trade-terms. The Rams did get Mike Wilcher out of the deal.
