Let's be real here tho... Chances are whomever they pick will probably be a dud. Not to be a Debbie downer but teams miss on first round QB talent let alone finding a guy who's starter material in the 4+ rounds. It's obviously not impossible but the draft is a crap shoot. It's incredibly difficult to pick a guy who fits your system, culture, skill level, ascending talent ect.

That is the same point I am making.
Saying we need to upgrade that spot because these two are bums....then saying a 4th round pick or later or an UDFA....and expecting something different doesn't make sense really.
A solid vet QB costs too much.
So....Im picking one of the two, keeping them and doing what you suggest to try and develop a third guy.

I agree.
Wolford can be functional enough with a good D and could fill in for a few games. An extended run? Naw.
But, that is most teams.
Tutu not getting his second foot down for a TD and a few misses from Wolford limited the scoring. The pick at (about) the Seahawks 20 and another possession where I believe Wolford took a sack to take them out of FG range. Those two missed opps for at least 3 points and at least one missed TD doomed the Rams. Even with that, putting 23 points was some progress.
I am sticking with Wolford at this point to see if he can find a rhythm....assuming he's not injured again or still.

Would you be into Mayfield at a backup role? I don't think he would be too expensive.

It would depend I guess.
We have not gotten to see what either back up we have now can do behind a normal starting offense.
Rewatching some of the Seahawks game one can't help but wonder what Baker would do on some of those roll out throws where were plays down field. The difference in arm talent is real.
To me, it would all depend on money.
On the cheap sure.

Is he still stating that the Rams were wrong about drafting Tutu instead of Humphrey which I would agree with

or

Is he putting down Tutu as a player who is worthless (that I would disagree with)

Either way, what does it matter?
I certainly would have taken Humphrey (or a few other OL) over Atwell.
But, Atwell is here.....so, Im glad he's is finding some good reps.

More important to me now is salvaging value from that pick.

Tutu is showing he can play and has real speed. It'll be up to McVay to utilize it next season. The offense very much needs it.

Well if he is still bitching about drafting Tutu instead of Humphrey - that is not going to go away any time soon

40 years from now when I am 100, I can still see people saying - remember when the Rams drafted Tutu instead of Creed

And yes - I am going to live until 100 dammit - you guys are going to have to suffer me for the next 40 years

He runs past guys deep....so far, nearly every time.

He has gotten hurt and missed time every time he's played for the Rams. Without even discussing his lack of ability, there isnt really reason to think he could be counted on to play a couple games
