That is the same point I am making.I'd say 4th rounder would be pretty safe. Or signing a FA prospect with upside.
Let's be real here tho... Chances are whomever they pick will probably be a dud. Not to be a Debbie downer but teams miss on first round QB talent let alone finding a guy who's starter material in the 4+ rounds. It's obviously not impossible but the draft is a crap shoot. It's incredibly difficult to pick a guy who fits your system, culture, skill level, ascending talent ect.
Saying we need to upgrade that spot because these two are bums....then saying a 4th round pick or later or an UDFA....and expecting something different doesn't make sense really.
A solid vet QB costs too much.
So....Im picking one of the two, keeping them and doing what you suggest to try and develop a third guy.
