Yeah, he could easily rise above Burden who wasn't as impressive this season. I definitely wouldn't mind taking Burden either.
I've heard some whispers on Burden that make me wonder if he's a fit.

Supposedly, he takes plays off when he's not the intended target. On a general level that lack of effort fails the 'he really cares, passionate about football' test. And positionally, McVay's receivers can't do that since they have to show just as much dedication in blocking.

I would love Matthew Golden, but I don’t think he makes it to 26 when it’s all said and done. Fast, runs crisp routes, catches everything. He’s been criminally underrated up to this point.

Yeah, we will have to see what happens in the pre draft process. There are a number of WR available. But yeah, Golden pops and when I saw he was coming out early I got excited.

Mathew Golden, the weapon who made Texas look good.

He has elite route-running, separation and speed.

--> Highlights <--

Imagine him and Puka, and Kupp in the slot.

We grab at RT in the third.

And an athletic LB in the fourth.

Then we take some flyers.

Beginning to wonder if the University of Texas exaggerated his height.

We wont be happy, but a critical need in a weak OT draft that really drops off after rd 2.
Again, a big need considering Havenstein's age & injury history.

OT Cameron Williams

Raw, one year starter, but has all the measurable's and athletic ability. Of course they would only take him if his personality is a fit. No more Greg Robinson's.

Yeah, first year starter...raw.

Not saying I want to see it, but I could see them going the OT route.
I prefer drafting to the strengths of the draft. So TE it is, which one depends on who lasts to 26. This early I have no idea. Maybe the Rams even trade back

With the success the team has had with older and experienced players the past couple drafts, it's hard to imagine that they would spend their top choice on raw talent.

I am not in favour of a TE with our first pick, but if we did your idea makes sense. Especially if we get a 2nd out of it.

Your point is valid that RT is an issue. In my abbreviated mock I just said throw a 3rd round pick at it, but yeah it is an issue. Maybe free agency, i dont know. I think we really have taken Hav for granted.

If they think that they’ve pinpointed an instant impact player at TE, like Laporta, Bowers, or Kittle and he could step into Kupp’s role from day one, I’d be fine with it, even in round one.

It doesn’t seem like they will land a stud Receiver in free agency, nor in the draft at 26.

Ideally unless it's the second coming of Kellen Winslow you never want to draft a TE in the first round. And especially not in a deep TE draft class.

However, if it's a stud and the plan is to feature that guy on offense it makes more sense. But, both must be true, IMO.

The Combine will separate some of the offensive weapons. I fear Golden will perform well enough to be out of our draft range. Loveland as well.

Possibly but it will be fun to see who drops. There are probably 6 or 7 WR I'd take at 26 though a few will be gone before us.
