Or maybe another 150 lb receiver will be there.
I guess that is another Tutu joke...... And the Rams deserve being laughed at for the process..... Humphies still values out as a better (okay..... much better....) overall pick. Will it play out that way after this season or the next? Who knows? This year, I would like us to look at either Jonathon Ringo out of Ole Miss or Parker Washington out of Penn State. Both are blue collar receivers that do have some speed but aren't dwafted next to their defensive counterparts.

Washington is very good. I think he will have a better career than Tutu. I’m not sure the Rams will take another slot receiver type.

Just take LaPorta. Slot backup to Kupp... Check. Then defense and some mid to late iOL to supplement the depth.

Well, Atwell has such limited ability to play slot that calling him a slot player is pretty generous. Guy just doesn't have the change of direction to be used there regularly. He can only really play there on with a very limited route tree. Atwell has speed and actually pretty decent hands but not much else.

I'm pretty generous with this front office and think they've actually gotten quite a bit more right than wrong but Atwell seemed like a panic pick by McVay with a player he probably liked in Eskridge coming off the board right before him.

They tried him at punt returner. I think McVay envisioned him having a bit more change of direction than he actually does. I agree that it was a forced pick. Supposedly McVay had to have him. It seems similar to Martz falling in love with the possibilities of Trung Canidate.

I’d rather the head coach not be too involved with picking players. At least not to the extent that they demand a player that the GM or scouts wouldn’t recommend so early in the draft.

you don't pick a punt returner in the 2nd round. if that was his plan for him then it's one fucked up plan.

Not to mention, you don't pick ANY punter returner if he weighs less then your 12 year old son. I think that fact was proven when he was IR'd on his first attempt.

Interesting as we get closer seeing stuff finally come out on where guys are on boards. Myles Murphy who the media keeps putting in the 1st round may very well be there in the 2nd round due to lack of production. Do you take a guy like that in the 2nd? All tools, little production. Maybe if we traded down.

I don't see Murphy as being ideal in our scheme. IMO, he is more of a hand in the dirt 4-3 DE coming out of college. I wouldn't rule him out as being an edge as he tested fairly well for a guy his size. He would be a good value at 36 though.

I think EDGE is our most pressing need but outside of the top 3 or 4 Edge rushers, there's a bunch of high floor/low ceiling guys like Ojulari that I want to stay far away from. We need dynamic pass rushers to compliment Donald and our young secondary, not Leonard Floyd/Justin Hollins clones...

Unless Will Mcdonald is there, I hope they trade down from 36 and use the extra picks to get the BPOA at all of our picks...With our roster as depleted as it is, we need an influx of talent/explosive athleticism pretty much at all the skill positions at this point...

I would be estactic if the team was able to double down on Edge with guys like Jose Ramirez (Eastern Michigan) and KJ Henry (Clemson) in the middle/late rounds
