Draft is impossible to predict but let's see if someone can get this right.

In my scenario the Rams stand pat and select a massive Offensive Lineman

Dawand Jones. Offensive Tackle. The Ohio State

I too think we stand pat. There’s some good 1 round quality players available to us. This guy will probably end up in the first round, but I can also see him being there when we pick

O’Cyrus Torrence - Guard - Florida

Who I'd like us to draft: LaPorta.

Who they'll probably draft: Edge. So I'll go with Tuli after a trade down. McDonald would be incredible there but doubt he gets out of late round 1.

Think I'll stick with my current mock and say OL John Michael Schmidtz after a short trade down. Best interior lineman in the draft IMO and I'm sure could kick to either guard position if needed.

90% chance a trade down but if Torrence or McDonald are there I could see them grabbing them.

Guards slide and that being communicated IMO, Torrence, then Edge & CB makes for a great day. McVay can get his toys in the 5th with a TE, WR & QB. O'Cyrus is a sight for sore eyes.

Torrence would be great and fill a need where he could be a day 1 starter. Definitely would not hate that.

Dawand Jones might not be a day 1 starter, maybe not even year 1. However he might be that rock in the blindside for the next decade.

Cam Smith is a ball hawk that would be a good choice to compete with our weaker group of CBs. 6’1” 180 he could put a little weight on that frame.

Tuli Tuipulotu looks like a rangy guy who has plenty of juice and gets good pressure. Being an SC gets bonus points from me.

Trading down would be my least favorite use of this pick. Any of these 4 could possibly be day 1 starters if the cards fall right for them.

Tuli reminds me a little of Kevin Greene. Big and physical off that edge with better speed and agility than you think.

But also he's nasty on the interior too. The guy has a knack for popping up in the backfield to make plays and you wonder how he got there. I suspect with the Rams he might end up being 5T quite a bit too.

So many options, but seems the best pure edge rusher that might be available at that point is Will McDonald. So I would take him if there.

However, McVay likely takes a skill guy at TE, WR, or maybe a RB like Gibbs with their top pick. Then goes OL/Edge in rd 3 and then depth everywhere else after that.

Best Edge, CB or IOL available. Ojulari is my guy if Nolan Smith has in fact shot back up to where he belonged in the draft before his injury.

If it’s a CB, I’m with Black Bart: Cam Smith.
I’d prefer Edge if the Rams are going defense, though.
I like Uzomah and BJO, but I think Uzumah might still be there at #69?

My preference, Steen, LT, won’t be. He fits the profile the Rams usually covet in an OL. Lotta games played/started and proven productivity. Kick Jackson inside to LT and put Noteboom on the bench as the backup Tackle.

So if it falls that way:
Steen
Uzumah
Then grab your skill guy, probably TE. The Rams have been looking at two good ones that could be there at #77.
