Ok, someone sell me on this one. I'm guessing a special teams pick? But after hearing about how deep this draft was there wasn't a player at a more needed position we couldn't have gotten quality depth for?

Don't look at me. This isn't what I expected.

Really smart, high character.

ST contributor but could be a solid backup. I mocked him to us.

To me this could mean that either Burgess plays CB or Rapp plays more LB.

Jordan Fuller, S
Career Snapshot: Three-year starter who was named First Team All-Big Ten and made 62 tackles with two interceptions and four pass breakups as a senior in 2019. Earned Third Team All-Big Ten honors and made 70 tackles (three for loss) with two interceptions and two PBUs as a sophomore in 2017. Named Honorable Mention All-Big Ten and posted 81 tackles (2.5 for loss), one interception and four pass breakups in 2018.

Positives: Tough, instinctive safety who works hard and always tries to make positive plays. Tracks the pass in the air, displays timing on pass defenses and gets vertical to break up the throw. Works well with cornerbacks to bracket receivers over the middle of the field and out to the flanks. Keeps the action in front of him. Strong run defender, wraps up tackling and brings opponents down at the point of attack.

Negatives: Minimal speed and athleticism. Often a half-step late to the play. Average burst out of his plant to close to the action.

Analysis: Fuller has been a consistent safety for Ohio State, but he has physical and athletic limitations. Despite this, he’s tough and instinctive and offers possibilities in a zone system that reduces his area assignments.

I think he will be a good back-up to Rapp & Johnson. The rams only have Gervase right now, notwithstanding the Burgess pick who will probably have a different role, and Fuller will be an upgrade.

I'm surprised we picked him over J.R. Reed. Must like him as a deep safety. IDK.

Really surprised Reed is still out there, probably highest rated Safety left, and son of a former NFL player. Wonder what’s going on there?

Probably the most disappointing draft of the McVay/Snead era. Not only did we draft for positions that I thought could’ve been made way later in the draft, but we got guys who weren’t even on anyone’s radars. Again, gonna trust those guys that they know what they’re doing but I can’t help but come away from this draft completely puzzled and disappointed. There’s just not a lot to get excited about when it feels like every team in the NFC West made improvements across the board except us. If we had gotten Trent, maybe it’s all a different story. Regardless, I’m anticipating a bumpy semi-rebuild of a year with many learning curves to hopefully put us in a good position to battle for the crown in 2021.

Between the goddamn coronavirus, the logo/uniform change, Gurley AND Cooks gone, and NOW this lackluster (on paper, jury is out for some time) draft, I’ve never been more frustrated as a Rams fan. Trust me I’ll take these days over Spags or Linehan but until it’s proven, I just can’t envision us being all that great this year. 2020 has been a colossal failure.

Fuller is from town next to me - Old Tappan, NJ. My friend’s daughter is really close with him. I’m working on getting his #!! :p

Reminds me of the Rapp pick, limited athleticism but long on football IQ. I'm sure he'll contribute early on the 52.

Rams need a third safety.

Nick Scott was drafted to play special teams and was a favorite of Fassel who’s gone. Jake Gervase is an unknown.

That’s the safety depth unless the coaches see Adonis Alexander as a safety.

I like the two-time Ohio State team captain as the potential 3rd safety.

See Terrell Burgess more in the slot.

It’s a computer glitch.

Everytime they click the button to draft a Oline man the dam program drafts a safety.

We may have to restart the draft.

Yes, this^^^...all of it. Probably this year's Scott.
Scott may get some D reps this season. Full has to be ST's only - too slow and un-athletic.
