Los Angeles Rams preseason week four: Stock up, stock down
The offensive trio of John Wolford, Nsimba Webster, and KhaDarel Hodge continue to contribute. Could any make the roster?

Preseason week four has officially ended, wrapping up the “pretend” games and shifting our focus to the kickoff of the 2019 NFL season. The
Los Angeles Rams finished the preseason with a 2-2 record as they defeated the
Houston Texans 22-10 on Thursday night.
Let’s have a look at the players who trended upwards, as well as their counterparts who’re headed in the wrong direction. Note: Lots of players were held out of this contest.
Stock Down
QB
Brandon Allen
In what has seemingly become a theme this preseason,
Brandon Allen put forth quite an awful performance. Allen went 12/17 for 120 yards passing and two interceptions, sailing multiple passes once again. There was no point this preseason where Allen played like he deserved a roster spot, and he surely wont get one over
John Wolford (whether that’s on the 53 or practice squad).
Stock Up
QB John Wolford
On the opposite end of the spectrum, John Wolford played lights out once again as he went 8/15 for 105 passing yards and two touchdowns. Wolford looked calm, cool, and collected all game once again. His composure and ability to use his mobility/make throws on the run is highly impressive. Not only that, but Wolford maneuvered within the pocket marvelously on Thursday night. Wolford has an outside shot of sticking on the 53-man roster, though it’s more likely the Rams try to stash him on the practice squad.
WR
KhaDarel Hodge
KhaDarel Hodge was the best skill player on the team as he reeled in all five of his targets for 76 receiving yards. Hodge stands out every preseason game as a playmaking receiver ready to be rostered on the 53-man active roster. Whether or not he makes it is question. Hodge has 100% earned the opportunity to be rostered though, as he’s done nothing but impress rep after rep this preseason.
WR
Nsimba Webster
Like Hodge, Nsimba Webster has separated himself as an undrafted free agent receiver this year. Webster does most of his work in the short-to-intermediate part of the field, showing great awareness by sitting between zones, strong hands that pluck the ball with ease, and the toughness to head upfield for extra yardage. Webster had a fantastic catch in the right corner of the endzone from Wolford. Webster was targeted six times, managing to bring in four of those balls for 38 yards and a touchdown.
RB
Justin Davis
Justin Davis didn’t get a ton of run this preseason, though he’s always been a productive zone scheme runner for the Rams, with that trend continuing on Thursday night as Davis toted the rock 16 times for 78 yards and one touchdown. Davis’ skillset fits the offense well, and though he wont be a factor in the offense during the regular season, he could develop on the practice squad.
EDGE
Ogbonnia Okoronkwo
Ogbo continued his string of strong performances with a six-tackle, two-sack, and two tackles-for-loss contest. Ogbo looked potent off the edge once again. The only nitpick is Ogbo has a lot of rushes that are stale and end up with him losing his balance/ending up on the turf, though he produces regardless.
