pump your breaks....I need to see a lil more...like real season games
Give us 23.7 points per game along with a stout defense(like we've had even before Wade got here) and we're on to something. I'd do cartwheels in a bed of hot coals if our offense could avg that...which is about the middle of the pack these days and good enough to win playoff games if your D is top 10.
Owned! We just beat the Seahawks 42-7 IN SEATTLE.
I'm sorry, but if that's not enough, nothing will be.
You act like the GSOT beat a winning team during the regular season (in 1999, they didn't. after starting 10-0, they went 3-3 down the stretch losing all 3 games to teams with a winning record, iirc)
I loved the GSOT.
That said, it's just not right to say more needs to be seen to even draw comparisons.
We're close in offensive PPG, better in defensive points allowed, better special teams and have had a tougher strength of schedule (tho not by much).
I'm not saying this team is as good as the GSOT...yet.
But to say we need to see more "real" games after our 5 game stretch...
That's something I don't see.
Edit: Sorry @LACHAMP46 . I didn't read the dates...LOL. My bad!
The NFL network just put out the top 10 offenses of all time and the GSOT was #1.
Not easy to overthrow that team.
Start with a Super Bowl and some amazing offense in the postseason.
Remember how football analysts, experts, and fans compared the 2016 Falcons to the GSOT? They didn't even win the Super Bowl and their offense has been very mediocre this year. Before anyone claims to be the second coming they must at least be the best offense in nearly every category for 3 years straight. Even then, they'd have to set numerous records, have multiple MVPs and accolades, and a Super Bowl ring or two just to be in the same breathe as the '99-'01 teams.
Let's face it; there's a 99.9% chance that there will never be another offense like the Greatest Show On Turf. An offense that potent comes around once, maybe twice in a lifetime. This 2017 Rams team is on the right track, but only time will tell how they stack-up against the Greatest.

While I'm sure some still want to compare our offense to 1999 (to 2002...). This team is as much, if not more, defined by it's defense.
Yeah... I was under the impression that the 1999-2000 team wasn't all that great on defense.
But, when I went back and looked at the only stat I care about - Points Per Game:
1999: 15.1 PPG
2017 (thus far): 19.4 PPG
Offense
1999: 32.9 PPG
2017 (thus far): 31.7 PPG
That 1999-2000 team was really remarkable!
Now... in 2000-2001, that defense went down the crapper... allowing 29.4 PPG. IIRC, that's what precipitated the hiring of Lovie Smith.
Holy shit dude are we in a parallel universe? That's the same week I started rooting for the RamsI haven't been this excited about the Rams since Week 5 of 1999 when I decided to become a fan.

Yeah, the media types haven't quite wrapped their minds around Aaron Donald and the 15-20 characters that certainly are not Dwarfs......Just shutting down an offense, wherever the Rams play, led by SonofBum. A much more complete team.
And those losses though...For clarity regarding 1999....
- They started 6-0 not 10-0
- They then lost their next 2 games to the Titans and the Lions respectively
No....he said it right. One day we might can compare Gurley to Faulk, but not yet. Faulk knew his position so well......but he knew everyone else's as well. I'm sure you've heard about the time Hakim was injured on a play. It would have cost us a time out which we didn't have. And the run off might have ended the game. Faulk quickly picked Hakim up and held him upright, so we could spike the ball and stop the clock. And then drug him to the sideline where he could get help.Holy crap dude are we in a parallel universe? That's the same week I started rooting for the Rams
Also, home run with your prediction. I wasn't buying any of that.
Only part I disagree is that you said Gurley is no Marshall Faulk. I think you mean Faulk is no Todd Gurley![]()
