DeSean Jackson says players should be mic’d up

DeSean Jackson said players should be mic’d up to give fans added insight and provide entertainment value for those forced to watch the action at home (via Patrik Walker of CBS Sports):

“It’s going to get crazy [without fans],” DeSean Jackson said. “I think they should [mic up players]. I think they should give fans insight to see what really goes on in between the white lines. It gets crazy.

“I know in the trenches it gets crazy, and I know on the outside it gets crazy too — the conversations we have going back and forth.”

DeSean Jackson’s idea is not without merit.

The NBA is advancing towards finalizing a return-to-play plan, and some–such as former New York Knicks head coach David Fizdale–have suggested players be mic’d up.

The NFL already uses microphone sound with players, though it is not part of a live feed. (Does DeSean Jackson know that?) Fans only hear these through “Sounds of the Game” segments or NFL Films’ highlight distributions.

Hearing what players have to say to one another throughout the game would certainly make for good theater. DeSean Jackson is hoping to provide Eagles fans with more theater of his own this year.

The 33-year-old went off in Week 1 of the 2019 season, hauling in eight receptions for 154 yards and a pair of touchdowns. But “D-Jax” would play just 14 snaps the rest of the year, as injuries ruined his season in the latter part of his career.

Of course, the NFL regular season is still four months away. But the potential for playing without fans is real. As DeSean Jackson said, it might be time to consider alternative means of generating noise.

Still a dry heat. If it's 128 degrees in Death Valley, it's 98 degrees in the shade under every tree....

Are there any trees in Death Valley? Just curious, never been there (unless you consider the Rams' years in the wilderness after the GSOT...)

No, there are not. Some cactus but no trees. I was re-doing a joke that I'd heard about North Dakota (there's a woman under every tree, only there;s no trees up there...lol)

I am trying to go to the Rams Redskins game in October.

Got two Redskins fans going with me but they hate the owner so they might cheer for the Rams lol.

Well I don’t see social distancing on what’s been dominating the news the past week, cloth or dime store masks are basically for show, it will be interesting to see how this plays out

lol, can Science be wrong yet again? it pretty much has been since the scare began

or

Are we in for a massive spike?

I do find it curious how certain ”news” outlets all of a sudden could care less about the stay at home or be shamed B/S they’d been peddling, tho I suppose I shouldn’t be too surprised
