Hated him at the time of course, but Joe Kapp played his ass off, just like Gabe. QB was a different position entirely back then.
Yeah, he was balls to the wall for a few years. But, having lived thru it, I remember Kapp at the team award banquet in 1969 saying, after he'd won the award, 'there is no most valuable viking, there are 40 most valuable vikings' or words to that effect. Next thing you know, he's demanding he be paid like the most valuable player on the team and he hard line negoiated his way to the Boston Patriots where he was a complete disaster. I think what happened was, after Aaron Brown knocked him out of the Super Bowl in January 1970, he may have been concerned his shoulder was permanently damaged and he was hoping to sign a contract before getting on the field and that becoming evident. That is just speculation on my part, though. As to him stinking it up in Boston, he didn't have nearly the team around him that he did up north.

Bud Grant was cool.
Did he have Rod Woodson ? Last game he coached against The Rams away was really cool. Think it was a goal line stance & the crowd back then was loud.Wasn’t sold out & no noise pumped into that stadium like now a days.
He was just an old time great coach.

1985 Week 5 at the BIG A. The RAMS committed a defensive PI in the end zone to prevent a certain TD. Grant eschewd the tying FG and went for the win. NT Greg Meisner drove the center back into the offensive backfield forcing the ball carrier to leave his feet before he wanted to and when he leapt for the end zone LB Jim Collins stuffed him in midair. Final Score: LA RAMS 13 Minute Scrotum BiQueens 10. As for Grant, he kept PK Fred Cox on his roster when he'd outlived his usefulness because he was his hunting buddy. And his teams were badly outplayed and generally appeared flat for all four of their humiliating Super Bowl defeats. But, he has this mystique because he didn't allow his players to have heaters on the sideline. YAWN And he never had Rod Woodson on his roster, BTW.

Accidentally making contact while on an emotional meltdown. Lose your grip, pay a fine. Happens all the time. The things is, whatever your position on AD, FOOLIO is a hypocrite lover of the Minute Scrotum BiQueens
I don't disagree. Let's just not equate the two situations as being one per one though.

Yeah that's another thing: these QBs didn't last long playing like that. Gabriel most likely would have HOF stats if it weren't for his play style severely truncating his career.
