This week, it seemed the entire NFL drank some crazy Flavor-Aid. Frankly, it woulda made a whole lotta more sense as a week 1, but it is what it is.
I mean WHO played the parlay with the Jags, Washington, Raiders, Browns and Bucs ALL winning???
Cuz, ya know... I sure didn't. After over-estimating the Eagles in Week one, I figured I was safe in Week 2 going with the Saints at home. NOPE. Out in TWO. Freaking hate survivor leagues. Have the worst luck.
Anyway, I'm just not worried.
If we get to the bye at 1-4? Yeah, then I'll be worried, but even then there are paths to the playoffs depending on how we play in getting to that (do we play tough as hell, but just lose some heartbreakers or do we get our clocks cleaned and just play bad?)
Frankly, I think at the very least we'll be a whole lot tougher at home and THIS game on the road will wake this team up. And this team learns.
I'd rather have this lesson early than late: They aren't sniffing themselves anymore... after that beatdown, this young team KNOWS that unless they bring that Week One intensity, they won't be the team they can be. If they DO bring that intensity and discipline, then they can beat anyone.
Who shows up next Sunday? I dunno. We'll see. But I'm not worried. This was a crazy week and this young team learned a valuable lesson EARLY. We weren't going undefeated, so I'd rather this team learned that we have to treat every team like they are the Seahawks, because we've seen what happens when we don't.
Let's just say that I surely don't expect to get ROFLSTOMPED like the 9ers did. I expect this to be a really tough game and I expect both our O and our D to be much more focused and have much more energy than this past week.
