"Gurley shouldnt get the MVP bc he has a strong oline and on a talented team. Brees should get the MVP who has THE BEST oline this year, and just as good of a team."

Nice contradiction, bro.

So, in a nutshell, for those that cant sit through that, he basically said that the Rams O line and the "system" (everyones favourite term for the Rams offence) that McVay is calling are the reasons why Gurley is successful this season.
10 minutes of the video he whines about why Gurley shouldnt win Mvp.

He makes two brief points why Brees or Mahomes should win it, then finishes by crying that Brees hasnt won it...and thats your lot.

The whole argument that another player/players contribute to one player winning MVP is completely moot, in my opinion.
It is a team game.

I do believe that our opposing teams primary plan is to shut down Gurley.

Todd Gurley is the man in LA, last years offensive player of the year, and a front runner for MVP this season.

Brees is having one of the best seasons in history at a more valued position. It's his to lose at this point.

yep.

one can argue brees has a lot of talent around him but the 1 interception and completion percentage are historic. He’s the front Runner for MVP with a good amount of games left.

Our guys are aiming for a different trophy.

Barring a disaster for the Saints Brees will win it. His season, as mentioned, is just that good and he's a QB and he's a nice guy that everyone loves and its getting close to his swan song, etc etc etc. What the dipshit who made that video should have done is detailed why Brees should win the MVP instead of trying to justify it by making up all kinds of reasons why Gurley, another player having a historic run at his position, shouldn't. Yes, systems make skill positions better... no shit dumbass. Why wasn't Brees having this kind of year the last several? Because his o-line sucked ass and he was running for his life! Now that he has one of the best olines in the NFL... SURPRISE... he's having the best year of his career!! Seriously, dumbest fucking video I've seen in a while.

tldr: putting down another's accomplishments to raise up another's when it isn't even needed makes you look like a first rate moron... and an asshole.

As a Saints fan I am not sure if I want Brees to win the MVP, and frankly I’m not sure you guys will want Gurley winning the MVP either.

Not since 1999 has an NFL MVP also won the Super Bowl. In that same period 12 MVP winners played in the Super Bowl, so it’s not like the winners haven’t had a chance in the Super Bowl.

Let Pat Mahomes go and win the award.

The whole MVP thing is like talking about the best movie. It is very subjective.
All good teams are loaded with talent.
You could make an arguement that a stand out player on a talent depleted 4-12 team who made keys plays to seal 4 wins is the MVP. He showed a huge level of value to his team.
No RB succeeds without good OL play, no QB succeeds without good play from WRs and OL, no WR succeeds without good play from the OL and QB.
MVP is sort of a joke to me. It is usually just looking at stats. If a RB and QB both have historic years the QB will win it. Particularly a guy like Brees who is well liked, squeaky clean and has never won one.
So it goes.
Fun discussion.
Means little.

Hard to find much to disagree with.

Yes, Gurley is an elite talent but his production is also being assisted with great O-line play and playcalling. And yes a QB is probably going to win it this year.

There are 6 games left so time will tell. At this point Mahomes should probably be the MVP but Brees is the sentimental favorite. I would say Goff has a better chance of pulling it off but again time will tell.

I'm gonna keep bringing it up, but I think we need to take the word "system" back for ourselves and coin it as this offense's nickname. We'd have The Greatest Show on Turf and The System as the most prolific offenses in franchise history!

4 Weeks ago or so I declared Gurley has Zero shot at MVP and some were shocked by it. It was obvious then as it is now, this type of mentality is what dominates now and its not even close.

No way Brees or Mahomes lose this award and I'd be shocked if Brees doesn't get it for the quality and historic season he has had.

Add me to that small group that thinks Gurley shouldn't win it either. MVP to my eye at least is Mahomes vs Brees.

Goff won't be in it because of Gurley and vice versa. And that's ok by me, let's get that team (Super Bowl) hardware instead. :D

Then call it what it is, the Most Valuable Quarterback award....Gurley at 2200+ yards from scrimmage and 31 plus TD's by a RB would be just as historic....Last time LT did close to that, he won the MVP.

PS: If Todd did that this year and didn't win it...It's an absolute Bull Shyte Award...after which known as the BSA.

I like how even comparing Christian Ponder, he couldn't give Goff credit. He said would you rather have Christian Ponder, or would you rather have Sean McVay calling plays for Jared Goff. This guy is a typical McVay gets all the success for calling good plays, and the individual players get none...for the Rams
