  1. There's a few things I'm happy about in the Rams game.

    1. No Robert Quinn. He's been a sack machine against Wilson
    2. Fluker may be big enough to get in McDonald's way
    3. Sweezy should be able to do better if McDonald lines up over him.
    4. Home game with lots of noise.

On my wish list though is RBs who cutback. Lynch was great about cutting back when the whole line is flowing one way. I see multiple runs by our RBs trying to force a hole where there isn't one instead of cutting back off the Tackle's collapsing block which would yeild huge runs.

In the ARZ. game the announcers said that RW doesn't keep on the read option unless he thinks he can get 12 or more yards. I think many times just getting 5 or 6 yards would keep the defense honest and open up some more of those cut back runs.

I think RW took too much of a beating last season and the coaches are trying to keep him healthy this season. I have noticed that he certainly isn't running as often as he has in the past.

I don't even know how to predict how bad the Rams are going to slay this poor team.
It might be 60-0

Hey guys - long time!

-------

LOL us scoring zero on your crap defense. You might score 50 though.

-------

We scored points on Broncos and Bears defence and yet you say we score 0 on yours.... Hmmmm... Can't see that happening. However you putting 60 on us is definitely possible.

-------
I noticed the line on this game is Rams, only by 7. I would have expected that to be higher given our injuries.
-------

Vegas is amazing at spreads, but I might put my entire 401k on the Rams -7.

-------

I'm thinking it'll be a closer one than watchdog suggests. We may very well lose this one...but will put up a good fight at home against a rival (where anything can happen). Would love to win it in the end with Seabass like yesterday. It will be very key to keep their O off the field...I think we'll run the bejesus outta the rock to do it (even more than we'd typically aspire to do). Everybody gets in the game - Carson, Davis, (lucky)Penny, and Prosisely built of glass. Hell, the call may go out to bring down a few 12's to run the rock too. We do that, then we probably win a close one. That's assuming our D plays amped up. This will be an interesting measuring stick for us. Would love to have KJ for this. Hard to bet against Pete.

-------

We will kill the Rams and Watchdog will cry. I hope ;P

-------

The only way we're winning is by keeping the Rams off the field. 3rd down conversions or bust this game.

-------

our third downs are just awful so far this season. Not good!!!

-------

We never hear from by playoff time.

Sup WD.

Rams good team.

-------

Sorry Slide, completely ran out of tears on this site over the last 10 years of DOMINATION. Made lots of friends, but what can you say - still a DOG on a Kitty-cat's site (Suck it TC!)
But even if the unthinkable happened, and half the Rams developed the flu on gameday, and they ....somehow still lost. It wouldn't be a blip on the chances of the Hags winning or the Rams losing the division.

But you already know that LOL!.

I was kind of curious about that one myself. Historically the Seahawks are 2-10 when facing the Rams in a year the Rams were a playoff team.

I did a little looking, and obviously he meant the 2003 Rams who went 12-4 - after all the Rams have only won 4 games so far this year. In 2003 the Rams were leading by a good margin, but Warner was out and then Faulk broke his hand, and the Seahawks managed to come back.

It's either that, or the OP was talking out of his ass.

Reasons the Rams will beat Seattle

  • Seattle lost most of their good players from recent years.
  • Seattle has one good receiver.
  • Their OLine isn't very good and the Rams Dline is.
  • Pete Carroll is a cheerleader, and not a great tactician, matching wits with McVay.
  • Brian Schottenheimer.
  • Earl Thomas is injured.
  • Their secondary can't cover the Rams receivers.
  • The Seahawk Dline is average, the Rams OLine is very good.
  • Goff is playing at a very high level right now.
  • McVay won't let the team look past a division team, even if they suck.

I feel like Brian Schottenheimer could have been listed 8 times here and no one would have blinked! Lol

Since @Corbin took the initiative last week to start that thread, I encouraged him to take it over permanently. Lots on my plate these days and I appreciate the help from him and from anyone else who would like to pitch in. It's not that hard to start but time consuming over the long haul of a week.
I hope all is well Prime. We tend to get spoiled, with all the work you put in for us.

Rams Week 5 preview: 5 questions with Seahawks Wire
By: Cameron DaSilva

With the Los Angeles Rams and Seattle Seahawks squaring off for the first time this season on Sunday, we took a peek behind enemy lines. We chatted with Dean Smith-Richard of Seahawks Wire to find out some intel about the Seahawks and what he expects in Week 5.

With Earl Thomas and Mychal Kendricks out, how different does the Seahawks defense look?
The Seahawks D has outplayed pretty much everyone’s expectations, weathering significant losses over the last couple seasons, with young talent stepping up and Earl Thomas showing up in the eleventh hour. Kendricks has filled in capably for K.J. Wright, but that is obviously over now. Wright should be back shortly, so that may not be the end of the world.

Losing Thomas, on the other hand, is a crippling blow. There is a conversation to be had about the safety market, and their viability in the Hall of Fame, but his credentials – both as an individual career and contributions to a team – are unparalleled and even a solid safety is a huge step down from him. Long term, the defense might be OK, but suddenly deep routes are available to Goff and company.

It seems Brian Schottenheimer has steered away from Russell Wilson’s best attribute: deep passes. What’s the thinking behind that?
That’s a question I – and most Seahawk fans – would love an answer to. The best thing I can think of is the Seahawks trying to have a “running game identity,” which is all fine and good, but that still doesn’t explain not taking advantage of Wilson’s deep ball skills, especially off play action. It worked against sub-par teams like Dallas and Arizona, but game plans like the ones used in those victories will be blowout losses to teams like the Rams.

Who’s the one offensive player the Rams have to worry about most?
Even with the above, it’s still Russell Wilson. Chris Carson and Mike Davis had good games the last two weeks, and even Rashaad Penny showed signs of life, but if (when) the play breaks down, Wilson’s ability to create and improvise is second to none.

The Rams are built from the inside out on their front seven with Suh, Donald and Brockers up front. Do the Seahawks have the interior linemen to block them?
The line is certainly better than last year, but no, not even kind of. There will likely be several plays where they hold their own and some where Wilson has to create, but there will probably be a couple holding penalties and a couple plays where Donald actually gets to Wilson/the running back before the ball does.

Even more concerning is that the receiving corps is lackluster, although Doug Baldwin being back in should help. But coverage sacks come fast against the Rams, and if the receivers can’t break free, all of Wilson’s magic tricks will be for naught.

What’s your prediction for Sunday?
24-10, Rams, with that Seahawks TD coming in garbage time. I haven’t seen anything from the Seahawks this year that says they can stand with the Rams in either scheme or execution.

There is no way the Seahawks will beat the Rams this year or for many. RAMS 55, SEA 0

Someone had to say it now go have milk and cookies and go back to bed
--------------
At the end of the day it is going to be tough for the Hawks to beat the Rams who are probably the best team in the league right now. Their only real weakness is at QB, other than that they are solid at every position... offense and defensively.
-----------
I see the Hawks losing by double digits to the Rams.
----------
Man. Ol Gurley is like great

That is how u move the ball boys
-----------
Man ol Donald can flatten the QB
------------
Going into TNF, I felt that the Rams were the best team in the NFC, and I still feel that they are as they clearly have the best offense in the league, at least to this point. But I was surprised at how well the Vikings were able to move the ball on them.

For awhile, it looked like I was watching arena football, over 1,000 yards offense between the two teams. Wade Phillips had better get his chit together if they expect to compete for the SB.
-----------
This Sean McVay is something. Scary
----------
Stopping Gurley is a key then obviously pressure on Goff but their offensive concepts with multiple options all over the field every play is revolutionary.

I fear for Wilson with Aaron donald and Suh in the middle of a very able defense. Donald always had Russ's number and Suh crippled him for the season in the opener a couple of years ago. Carson and the run game has to be a key.
-----------
Hawks 24, Rams 23
-----------
Rams 35 Hawks 20
-----------
Rams > 42

Seahawks < 13
-----------
We'll be lucky to score against the Rams with this clown show offense.
----------
Rams 27 Seattle 10
-----------
I just hope we can hang with them, keep the spread at two touchdowns or less. The last thing I want to do is travel to London with my tail between my legs following some 45-13 arse kicking like we suffered last year.
----------
I see us winning against a long time rival it's a home game and I see Wilson behind an improved OL completing pass after pass maybe getting 400+ yards. Carson picking up lots of 1st downs. One of our best units is the DL and I think we get some sacks and stuff Gurley too.

I see this as a high shooting grudge match 37 us 27 them
------------
We always seem to play to our opponents level. If we hold the Lambs under 27 points, there’s a good chance we can win.

I see that seattle still has lots of delusional fans. It makes you wonder if they have even watched the shecocks or the Rams play this year. Some even think schotty is capable of coordinating a successful O.

See, many will see this as being clueless - I think it's complimenting the Rams. If their only real weakness is a QB who was a pro bowler last season, and who is leading the league in QB rating after 4 weeks this season, the poster is saying that the rest of the Rams are even better.

So, the QB position is a weakness, eh?? I guess those long passes - right in stride - better than some hand-offs, is a weakness??

I'll take it then.

So the Hags offensive line is better. Should be interesting to see if that is true. They were so bad in the last Rams matchup. Rams should romp.

In all honesty it would be hard for them to not be better than they were in the last match up. Doesnt mean they will be good just better than the arguably worst OL ever assembled. They are still crappy and the Rams DL is about ready to take the league by storm.

With the O putting up points teams will have to pass more and they can pin their ears back and meet at the QB. After slow start as far as sacks go, this week should help them pick up the pace and rolling for a shot at the sack record.
