We get it. You want results and are convincing yourself that Wade either doesn't care enough or doesnt know enough to figure out how to fix it.
Not everyone agrees Wade is the problem and that sending him packing will prove to be better for us.
Everybody wants results. I mean no offense whatsoever, but that is not a unique perspective for sports fans.
If you drive a company truck that breaks down on you while on a delivery and you call your boss to explain the situation and he just says he is "results oriented" you would call him an icehole who isnt helping you do your job. You didnt break his truck.
Well Wade didn't break our defense. He is just trying to drive it. He inherited a 4-3 defense, very, very few draft picks to install his players, and a handful of FAs this past offseason.
It isnt Wades fault that Brockers and Barron and Joyner all got worse or that he lacks depth in key positions.
crap happens sometimes. That isnt an excuse, its a fact of life.
Really good coaches are hard to get. A proven one at Wades level is even harder to find. But it does not matter how new or old they are, without the right players executing, it doesn't matter who you have.
Yes, sometimes shit happens, badnews.
But your company truck driver analogy is flawed. Not gonna waste my time explaining why. Should be pretty obvious.
Look, here are a few facts. Not opinions, but facts.
Wade is the DC and NOBODY is interfering with him in any way.
Wade, therefore, is ultimately responsible for overall results of his D, whether “shit happens”, or not.
Wade approved every single one of those player additions plus draft picks for 2 years.
Wade coaches his players, sees them in practices and in meetings.
We are seeing missed tackles to an alarming degree.
We are seeing far too many blown coverages.
We are seeing far too many missed gap assignments.
We are seeing lack of hustle from too many players.
We are seeing too many points scored on us.
Our run D is embarrassing.
I think that the above are all facts.
As always, the buck stops on D at Wade’s desk.
Curiously, this Wade discussion is eerily similar to some of the old Fisher discussions. I wanted to fire him after his first 3 years. Some posters said that it was always some damned thing OTHER than Fisher’s fault. And the Rams waited 2 years too long to make the decision to fire Fisher. Well, nobody’s complaining about Fisher’s firing now, are they?
I’m not advocating for firing Wade just yet. Quite. But I AM suggesting that we talk about the elephant in the room. And Wade’s D is the elephant in the room.
