In contrast... Jeff Fisher traded UP in the FIRST ROUND to get wide receiver Tavon Austin just a couple years earlier. And please don't try to tell me that Snead was involved in that pick -lol.

Talon was a big disappointment, I saw him playing for the Jags on Thursday …. for a guy with speed he finds it very difficult to find space.

Yeah DinoRam can think as he wants.Hard call to think exactly what was going on with SNISHER?

Big Rob Havenstien is the last of the bunch & the only Offensive Lineman
that made it either. Brian Quick dumber & Kenny Dumb who Fisher had in Tennessee.Brought Jared Cook with him who has been an excellent journeyman TE.
Glad for the SMALLER guy AD99.
—Mcvay gave Tavon Austin a solid chance to proof himself & had him as a RB at times to try to get him the ball.Ran all those Jet Sweeps as well.
He brought in Brandon Cook & the guy helped run it to The SuperBowl.
Cam Akers (A RB) was a must, but Kupp & Woods have always been The Core with Sean Mcvay.
—This Jones pick up is interesting, because Mcvay was giving Les Snead credit for working with coaches & going through his roster evaluation. The TRUST Sean Mcvay has is SPECIAL to see in This Rams Organization!!

Cooper Kupp at Jrry32 or some draft guy fell in love with him.I liked him,but I did have ZAY rated higher if it came down to The 2 WR’s.
I did like Reynolds especially because of a Rams Draftniks rating on him.Kittle was still the guy, especially because he had the SIZE & from IOWA where they Block.I fell in love with Kittles because of his 50 Yard dash.
Best 40 yard dash for a player like that I’d ever seen.

Talk about Lucky? I don’t know??

Gerald Everett is an example of Les Snead running a Draft & trusting(working with) coaches.

The trade back was awesome because Les Snead knew he could get Mcvay’s guy Gerald Everett. In my mind The Rams had to go TE.
Cooper Kupp was the guy though. He was The player I (jry32) would have taken.A Rams poster(Draftnik) LOVED KUPP.
Les Snead TRADES the pick & drafts of course a TE(Gerald Everett) Sean Mcvay’s guy.Yes BTW at the time Mcvay was a TE Guru.
Now The Rams draft pick comes time(which was Everett’s trade pick) & The Rams take (who) John Johnson who Wade Phillips knew & liked from Denver(bc player) that fit.
Then HOW Kupp was still on the board was crazy to me.

—Don’t know how Kittles was missed when Reynolds was still there & then Kupps teammate Ebukham still ahead of him ?

Agree. Can't catch the ball if you're not open. And Kupp is ALWAYS open. The nasty moves he makes twists DB's up into neat little pretzels. He makes up for not being the fastest WR by being the toughest to bring down, stiff-arming & juking his way down field & fighting every tackle. LOVE this pick, would take him over any in that class.
finally and apt description of kupp..

Les Snead was asked what did you say after Cooper Kupp ran a disappointing 4.62 40 at the combine? Snead's responded: "Thank God."

I hope so to man. My issue with that theory that I’ve even worked to try and look at it from all sides is Desean, Van, Trees, and Cooper is they at a minimum have 2 years on their contracts left, which means at a minimum TuTu will be in his 3rd year before he even has a shot at cracking playing time.

We are all familiar with Snead and McVay pretty good by now, do we think they wouldn’t draft another WR or sign or trade for a pretty good one that fell in their laps in 3 years? Hard to imagine they wouldn’t,

Just don’t see the upside to this premium pick.

I absolutely hope as an amateur fan the professionals make me eat some crow. Just seems this is not likely to happen in this situation,
It’s possible that Tutu and Harris can be used to sprinkle in more often, thus saving the legs of our veterans…and provide contract renegotiating leverage for possible free agent losses in the future by always having a good replacement available. Plus, it is the NFL, so the risk for season ending injuries is always present….my 2 cents

finally and apt description of kupp..
Kupp is kind of the NFL’s version of Larry Bird. Defies all the speed merchants, and uses his superior football IQ to get to his spots, and do damage when he gets the ball.

I remember wanting Smith-Shuster or Zay Jones; and being disappointed when Ju-Ju almost fell to the Rams.

Wish I could say that I have gotten smarter with age.

Looked up the Draft, and see where WRs Taywan Taylor, ArDarius Stewart and Carlos Henderson all went in the fifteen picks following the Kupp selection ... and were followed by Chris Godwin.

It applies to many positions (perhaps all) but Wide Receiver is such a Hit-and-Miss.

I don’t know ? Ju-ju from USC with Robert Woods would have worked out fine. Cooper Kupp has been actually unbelievable though as a Ram.

Delvin Cook was the player I really wanted.Who knows how that would have played out? Kupp & Kittles we’re still there as well in later rounds which is the direction I would have went & not making the trade for John Johnson.
Les Snead said before the draft though is there is only 1 football to go around.Since then things have changed. I’ll add The Rams & Mcvay signed that 3rd down back from Dallas FA.
Ebukham was a solid rotation LBer.I think at the time I really like those 3 players & The Rams had a chance for all 3 players.Gurley had always had that knee issue, which I was surprised The Rams(Snead?) took him #10 over all.I thought Cook at say 41 overall was a steal.

Add Cooper Kupp at 69. Chris Goodwin was a special players as well at 84,but Kupp was the best route runner in the draft by far.The Rams had Tavon Austin already & needed a possession receiver.

Reynolds or Kittle ? 117 Reynolds was the pick, but having 125 you knew there was a good chance of getting both players.

The saying was you can never have enough playmakers.Reynolds had size & some good upside.Last year he showed his lack of knowledge. It the little things that win games.
Harris,Sko,Funk we’re nice draft picks that play teams.

—I like the way The Rams draft.I can’t go back & say this & that really. McSNEAD are just really solid in there thoughts & keep getting better.

This year I think I would have drafted Humphries, but this Italian kid is going to make it in the NFL.Really not a Fan of Coleman Shelton. He was give the 2nd string center spot though.Brian Allen really earned the starting spot, but I have to think how the Center spot & offensive line was being evaluated. Still can’t believe all the O’Lineman on the roster.
Tutu Atwell is going to be a serious playmaker though. He is worth the wait.He is so much smoother than Tavon Austin as a WR already. He catches punts better as well.Tavon though was excellent & had bad bad bad luck with House Calls being brought back.

The way we play defense this year where we let the opponents get to the Ram 40 yard line before we start playing serious defense is going to limit Tutu's punt return chances this year.

I put in blue because I wanted to be sarcastic about our defense but I am serious that Tutu probably won't be given many chances to return punts this year. Maybe at most 1 a game.

Thanks for the add on. Like the blue as well.I’m not sure I agree, but this week I’m hoping DJ1 gets 2 to 3 PR opportunity’s.

The narrator would take Godwin over Kupp? No way

Chris Godwin is one my fav players to watch play. They're different types of WR. CG is faster and an outside/deep guy. CK is slot/possession/route runner type. You win either way.

That’s a great point you make right there - I love where Kupp fits in our Offense and probably need a more objective view on Godwin’s skill set.

This post should have been the video. The rest was fluff that wasn't needed.

His audience must be casual fans that don't have an in depth knowledge of the league.
