We had 6 captains last year.

Johnny Hekker, Andrew Whitworth, Alec Ogletree, Connor Barwin, Trumaine Johnson and Todd Gurley.

Three of those guys no longer play for us.

With camp beginning this week. Who do you believe exits with the captain role?

I think the 6 I'd guess with are. . .

Hekker
Whitworth
Gurley
Goff
Talib
Donald (assuming he's in camp relatively early)

Dark horse would be Suh or one of Barron and Littleton

Seriously though. I like some of your picks.

Goff. He’s now earned it. Grown into the role.

Gurley. Respect for the best offensive weapon in the league.

Saffold. Finally earns the Senior Man designation. Partially due to a whisper campaign from Andrew Whitworth.

Donald. Best player in the league. And work ethic to match.

Talib. Senior leader on defense.

Hekker. Ginger affirmative action designation.

I'd like to see Robert Woods get a role as Captain!

That’s a pretty good place to start. The part we don’t know real well is player needs to be comfortable with the assignment.

Brockers makes sense... not only because of his length of time with the team, but also avoids the optics of picking between Suh/Donald.

But again, I’m not sure if every player wants to have that responsibility.

Woods too if we have 7

No Donald, as he already missed a mandatory mini camp. You have to lead by example. And yes, I'm hard headed and hard to get along with.

Who has the best beards on the team?

McQuaide is definitely a lock.

Goff, most underrated leader on the team.

Gurley, probably just because he's such a good player, MVP candidate, and he leads by example. The dude works hard at his craft.

Whitworth---just reeks leader. Saffold is right in line with him. Very well respected, these guys.

Talib, has the capacity, and opportunity to be a leader in a young secondary group. Talib is an alpha.

Woods, really like him here as a leader, and he's entrenched now. Perfect example of a leader, on the field, off the field, a native of L.A., and great at PR.

Hekker is a no brainer for special team's. A different type of leader, but very vocal, very funny, and very supportive. Smart dude. Strong social media game.

Brockers has to be my guy on defense, but only because Donald continues the hold out show.

I think J. Johnson the 3rd has a real natural capacity to be a leader, and could be a future captain, if his play continues to improve.

My darkhorse is Joyner, as the players really seem to rally, and get fired up around him.
